By the next day, the majority of residents in Tokyo had evacuated the city. Once again, the massive Kaiju was on the move, coming closer to Shinagawa, currently crossing over the Ōmori Station. Due to the amount of the Red Miasma in the air, it was difficult to see the Kaiju until it was right on top of the JSDF ground troops. Just as equally difficult for the jets above too.
Because of its sudden arrival, the soldiers were forced to retreat, moving back as the Kaiju continued for Shinagawa. There, the JSDF built up a defensive line with as much firepower as they could gather in such a small amount of time, preparing for the Kaiju's eventual arrival to the area. Currently while on its hands and feet, the Kaiju is about a little over 55 meters tall and exactly 60 meters long.
Even when the attacks from the JSDF landed, the Kaiju seemed to barely react. Opposed to the other Kaiju that died after the attack, this one seemed to have an even stronger hide.
"It's something called a Singularity." Wren started, "A Singularity is something that ranges between a living being or an anomaly in time and space. Logic is ignored by it since the entire body of a Singularity is composed of material from another dimension, or in this case from here."
Wren pointed to a space between the spirals, confusing everyone, "It's material that comes from the space between spaces. That's also where the Red Miasma comes from. The Kaiju that crossed over were exposed to the Miasma and it allowed them to adapt. I was also wrong about the Kaiju forcing an evolution on themselves, it was the Red Miasma making their evolution come sooner. Red Miasma also has some properties that allow it to bend time and light, which is why these Kaiju are able to be in two different places at once, maybe even why I heard the radio broadcast a day before it was turned on."
"Tha Kaiju and the Singularity are also using the Red Miasma to change the world to better suit themselves. Terraforming the planet into something familiar, to what they know."
"Back to the Singularity, if left unchecked, it'll continue to grow and absorb more power until finally it explodes, setting off a Devouring Calamity. Hiiragi worked to try and find some way to counter the Red Miasma, but the book seems to end early. He seems to have not gotten very far in that area."
"Then that's where we come in?" Mei asked.
Mei opened the book to the images of the worlds again, Wren, Shun, and Yuya came around her to see it as well, "I don't get how all these drawings are worlds." Yuya said, "Well, this is what you get when you're trying to create a two dimensional image of a four dimensional world." Mei started, "Right here, look."
Mei pointed to several numbers and letters written on the opposite end of the page, "The day the Singularity collapses is the day the Devouring Calamity starts, tomorrow."
"Messing with the events of the past will create a new timeline, then the universe itself will work to correct this. From my best guess, the answer to this most of the time was to erase the timeline completely." Wren said, "Hiiragi sent us this warning from the past, right?" Shun asked, "So would it be a safe bet to assume he's also sent us the answer."
"That's the part we're both stuck at." Mei said, "There's nothing in any of his books that gives us a way to stop it. It's more like he wants us to get the answer ourselves but is only giving us the tools needed to find it."
"If he did give us the information, but we just can't see it yet." Wren added, "So we have the answer, but without knowledge of it we won't see it?" Mei asked, "But what if he's telling us there's actually something missing to all this that's required? There's too many possibilities."
Wren flipped back to the beginning of the book, stopping once he came across another page, one filled with multiple numbers and letters Y:20XXD:20M:07Y:20XXD:22M:07Y:20XXD:25M:07. It continued on like this all the way into the next page before finally stopping on one written rather differently.
