Roles Reversed (Season 3/Part 1)

The kids ended up going back to the Wheeler's house and spent the night. Billy, feeling hopeless, crashed in his car again. He didn't want to be around his dad, he couldn't go back home. So, he drank and smoked his problems away for the night. That was after he bandaged his wound up first, of course.

The teens tried to search for Hopper, since he's been missing for days now. El found him and Joyce, in her trance. They were far from home, so they couldn't help them now. Dustin turned out to be MIA too. Y/n ended up giving El some narly bruising around her neck, too. Which y/n secretly is beating herself up for, even though she didn't really do it.

Nancy turned out to be apart of this as well. She witnessed an older lady being flayed. So, now they know that y/n may be the leader but other people can be flayed as well. Nancy couldn't believe it was y/n, the popular girl from her grade and Billy's girlfriend. El brought up how she was worried about Heather and how she has to be flayed to. That would make her trance about Heather make since. Nancy and Jonathan immediately peaked up to her name, since they go to high school with her too. They remember Tom, their boss at the Hawkins post, seeming different and he was hurt. Nancy, quickly assumed he was a part of it too.

Max knew Billy needed to be involved. As soon as the gang -Nancy, Jonathan, Mike, Lucas, El and Will- left the Wheeler's to go to the Holloways, she knew they had to include Billy. I mean he has to be apart of this. He knows everything anyways. Nancy was annoyed once Max told her that but then again, she understood. He does deserve to know, at this point.

Luckily Billy was home and didn't complain, so he came with them. No one was home at the Holloway's house, meaning El had to use her powers to open the front door. The home was freezing cold, only meaning one thing, they had to be flayed. The flayer likes it cold. Like Will once knew very well and continued to remember. They all looked around the house, Nancy leading them.

They found out that the flayed people were consuming cleaning products. Of course, if you were human you'd die from all the consumption but they're not exactly human. The boys think that the flayer is trying to create something. It doesn't quite make since but what does anymore?

Once they did more digging, they found out that Heather's parents were captured too, making their theory known. Y/n did start this, Heather was next and now they were slowly getting more people. That was clear now. Nancy came up with ideas, thinking that there is one specific place the flaying is happening. A place El didn't get to see in her trances. A place the older flayed lady needed to go back to as well. Will's theory is that since the old lady wants to go back, they can go to her and ask her about it. Maybe even take her there. To the hospital they go.

Billy felt kind of ridiculous. He really was behind the scenes of everything. Learning new information every step of the way. All he could do was follow and try to find a way to help his girl. He wanted her back, no he needed her back.

The hospital

Unfortunately, the kids needed to stay in the waiting room. Only two people were allowed during visiting hours. So, Billy stayed on the first floor, with the kids. He kept himself occupied with a magazine and tried to block out any negative thoughts.

The older lady wasn't in her room once Nancy and Jonathan came up to it. She was gone. Before they had a chance to leave the room, the lights began to flicker. That only meant one thing, the flayer was nearby. Tom came up from behind them. Nancy was soon able hit him, so they could escape, only to find another coworker from the Hawkins post in the hallway. He too got hurt from the hit, meaning they were all connected. Jonathan and Nancy turned the opposite direction and ran like hell.

No one was answering any of the phones from their floor. No one was around to save them. The rude coworker (the other flayed guy) found them in a room and fought Jonathan off. He hit him enough to make him stay on the ground until Nancy shoved scissors into his back. She started to run off again, leaving Jonathan behind. Tom caught up with them and found Jonathan first. Nancy was scared, in the dark empty hospital.

Tom fought Jonathan, while the other coworker searched for Nancy, as he called her Nancy Drew. Tom hurt Jonathan badly, trying to end him. Nancy found the guy before he could find her and knocked him in the face with a fire extinguisher. Luckily that helped Jonathan out on the other side of the hospital, allowing him to get a level up on Tom. She smashed his face in again, letting him and Tom both fall to the ground.

For a moment the older teens were safe. The lights began to flicker even worse, which startled Will from the waiting room. He knew something was wrong. They had to help his brother and Nancy out. So, all of them quickly made their way up to the same floor.

Apart from each other, Nancy and Jonathan waited for something to happen. They just knew it wasnt over. The men's bodies both decomposed in front of them. It was spine chilling seeing it happen. They were both turning into a blob, of flesh and bones. They followed the disgusting molds of the men, that conjoined in the hallway. The couple looked at each other in fear, as it turned into a monster. This explained the cleaning supplies that the humans consumed.

It chased Nancy further down the hallway. She was absolutely trembling with fear. She found herself hiding away into a room, thinking she could be okay. Yet, the monster deformed again, letting it effortlessly slip underneath the closed door. Just when she thought she might be safe, she quickly wasn't. It was the most hair rising experience ever.

Jonathan tried everything he could to help his girlfriend out. The door would not open. The monster smacked Nancy into the wall, making her fall down. She was quick on her feet. Jonathan smashed oxygen tanks into the door trying to get out but El beat him to it. The monster was over Nancy once El used her powers to let the door fly open. El let the monster hit every wall it could. Making it loose strength and become weak. Then with ease, she threw it out the window of the room.

Jonathan was glad Nancy was okay and immediately went to her. Then, the kids rushed down to the bottom floor to end the monster. Unfortunately, it was almost completely deformed down the water drain before they could get to it. It was disturbing to see the mold disappear like that and leave bones behind. What they didn't know, is that it was conjoining with more dismantled forms of others.

Billy couldn't believe what the fuck he just saw. First a possessed girlfriend, now this... This mutated monster blob thing. It was all so insane. He wanted to forget it as soon as he witnessed it.

"It's time." Y/n the leader of the flayer says, next to Heather Holloway. What's going to happen next?
