Rosalie couldn't lie, she actually liked Buck. Honestly, she was kind of happy her mother had invited the male over for dinner. He was really nice, and he was rather funny. It wasn't really something that could be denied, Buck was really handsome. She wouldn't admit it out loud, but she did find him attractive.
The very next day, Alisa had gotten a message from the man that she had been seeing, and he offered to buy lunch for her and Rosie. Alisa wasn't sure if Rosie would be up for meeting him, since she had just met Buck the day before, but she was going to see. She headed up to Rosie's room, where the girl was writing in a journal, and lightly knocked on the door.
"You had a nice time yesterday, right?" Alisa asked, as she entered the room.
"Yeah, Buck was nice." Rosie answered, making her mother smile.
"So, how would you feel about going out to lunch to meet the guy I was telling you about?"
"I don't know..."
"Look, he offered to buy us lunch, and he's really excited to meet you." Alisa commented, making Rosie bite her lip.
"Are you sure he wants to meet me?" Rosie questioned,"Are you sure he's not just being nice? Most people wouldn't care to meet their girlfriend's grown daughter, I just...I don't want him to be meeting me out of pity or something." She rambled, causing a smile to appear on her mother's face.
"My sweet girl," Alisa sat down next to her and wrapped her arm around her, "I promise you, he really wants to meet you. He's not meeting you out of pity. He knows how much you mean to me, and after everything he's heard about you, he cares about you, too. He just wants to formally meet you, so that you two can have a bond, yknow?"
"Okay," She sighed,"just let me get ready."
"Wear something you're comfortable in, you don't have to dress up." Alisa said, and Rosie nodded.
Once Rosie was dressed, she walked downstairs and met her mother in the kitchen. The woman had slipped into a new outfit, and was waiting on Rosie. When the woman looked up and seen Rosie, a smile came to her face.
"You look beautiful," Alisa commented, "but you didn't have to dress up. You could've worn jeans and a random shirt. He wouldn't have minded."
"I know, but I dressed up for you. Besides, you dressed up, why shouldn't I?"
"Let's go," Alisa replied, motioning for Rosie to follow her out of the door,"He's going to meet us there."
Rosie was nervous to meet the man. She hadn't even heard his name, much less really any information about him. All she knew was that her mother really liked him, and that he was a really nice person. She figured her mother was going to let her get to know the man on her own, instead of telling her everything about him before she even met him.
"Can you at least give me his name?" Rosie asked, causing her mother to look over at her with a smile.
"He wants to introduce himself properly, so you'll have to wait until you meet him to find out his name." Alisa replied, making Rosie groan.
"This is gonna be awkward." She grumbled, and her mother laughed.
"No it's not," The woman said,"Don't worry, you'll like him. Besides, you're not a teenager anymore, so you don't need to be so full of teenage angst." She added jokingly, and Rosie scoffed.
"Teenage angst is so overrated." Rosie replied, causing her mother to smirk.
Soon, Alisa stopped the car outside of a restaurant, and Rosie felt her stomach fill with butterflies. She didn't know why she was so nervous, considering she had met people before in her life. Maybe it was because of everything she had went through in life, or maybe it was because so many people had let her down.
"You've got this." Alisa said, giving her daughter's hand a gentle squeeze.
Rosie took a deep breath, before she unbuckled her seatbelt and stepped out of the car. She walked beside her mother into the restaurant, and without having to wait for a waitress, Alisa lead them over to a table. At the table was a large man, with many tattoos, and a smile on his face. Even with all the tattoos and his large build, Rosie couldn't help but feel like he was a good man. The aura he had around him was all good, which made Rosie feel a bit relaxed.
"You must be Rosalie," The man stuck his hand out,"I'm Jason, Jason Bradley. Your mother has told me a lot about you."
"Nice to meet you, too," Rosie replied, shaking his hand,"and please, call me Rosie or Rose."
"Okay," He smiled,"Oh, you both look beautiful today."
"Thank you." The two replied in unison, causing them to laugh.
"I went ahead and ordered the drinks," Jason commented, as the women took a seat at the table,"I hope you still like strawberry lemonade like your mother said, otherwise it's her fault you have it." He added, causing the younger woman to laugh.
"No, I still like it," She replied,"I don't think I'll ever get tired of it."
"So, I have a feeling you've got a lot of questions for me." He commented, causing her to nod.
"I just - I wanna know you more. You're my mom's boyfriend, and I don't want us to be strangers." She said, and he nodded.
"I understand that," He replied,"I'll answer whatever questions you've got, and if you don't mind, I'd like to ask you some, too."
"Uh, yeah, yeah I'll answer some questions." She answered, nodding slightly.
Rosie had so many questions, but she also questioned what he wanted to ask her. She wanted to answer him and be truthful, but she was nervous. Not really anyone but her mother knew everything about her, and she wasn't sure how much she was willing to open up, even if her mother claimed to really be serious about this man...
This is a picture of Jelly Roll, who'll be playing Jason Bradley. Also, fun fact, Jason Bradley is Jelly's actual first and middle name. It might just be my opinion, but Bunnie and Jelly are the perfect couple.
Do you guys know any Jelly Roll songs? What's your favorite Jelly song?
