ℌaving a hot boyfriend was not for the faint of heart, let me tell you.
When your boyfriend looked like a Greek God (maybe because he was the son of one) and was one of the best people on the planet, everyone seemed to flock towards him. He had this aura around him, drawing people to him, and charming them with a cheeky grin or a flash of ocean blue eyes, and I wouldn't lie and say those charms didn't work on me.
So, I was used to dealing with being a little jealous of people. I wouldn't say it was a constant in our relationship, but I'd definitely got used to people flirting with him because they could and because he was hot. Sometimes, they would see me and back off, which normally happened, if they didn't do that, then Percy would oftentimes turn tails and run back to me, with a worried look on his face, like he was afraid I'd be upset over it. But it wasn't his fault, so how could I be?
Percy was kind and respectful, apologising to me when it did happen, no matter how much I waved it off.
"Babe, we're going to be late for dinner." I was hopping around my room, trying to pull my shoes on at the sound of Percy's shout.
"I'm coming." I almost fell in my effort to get my trainers on, but managed it all the same. Opening the door, I emerged into the living room of my dad's apartment, finding him and my boyfriend chatting quietly about the latest Yankees game.
Percy had managed to charm my dad within minutes of meeting him the first time, much as he did to most people. Now, sometimes I felt like the third wheel in my own relationship, my boyfriend and dad getting on far too comfortably for my liking. It did amuse me however that Percy had been so terrified of meeting my father for the first time, something I often brought up.
"Sorry about that." Percy turned, a grin lighting up his entire face as I leant up to press a kiss to his cheek. "Work ran a little over and the train was late."
"It's alright. You look beautiful." His eyes were soft, smile even softer as he held out a bouquet of tulips and sunflowers. "Happy anniversary."
I grinned, blush warming my cheeks and I couldn't meet his eyes for a moment.
"I'll have her back before 10, sir."
"Have her back whenever." My dad beamed, as I rolled my eyes. Despite my father's protests that he would not like any boy I dated, I knew he considered Percy as a son. "You're adults, I trust you."
"Thanks dad." I grinned, handing him the flowers so that they could go into a vase. By the time I got home, I knew my dad would have put them in my room. "See you later."
He waved, as Percy led the way out of the door, swinging our hands between us gently. We were only going a couple of blocks away, to a cute diner to grab some food to take away, before we headed to find a bench near the river for us to eat. That had been our tradition for anniversaries and birthdays for two years or so now, neither of us liking the other to spend a lot of money on us.
"Alright, so, I'm thinking you're gonna get cherry coke..."
"Yeah." Percy nodded as I guessed his order. It was always a little different depending on where we went, but there was a similar running theme going through it.
"The mildest thing on the menu because otherwise you're gonna be sweating for the entire date." He blushed at that, nodding and laughing to himself all the same. We'd gone out to eat on our third date and I'd taken him to my favourite Thai place. He hadn't checked how spicy the food had been and it had promptly almost killed him. Percy had been so red that I was worried he was going to explode and I was sure there was steam coming from his ears. "Then ice cream for pudding."
