Farther

Adeline's pov

I woke up to the sound of ringing down my ear I quickly grab my phone going to turn it off when I see the time "shit" I say to my self realizing it's already 7:30am farther expects breakfast by 7:00am and I don't even want to think about what's in store for me I shoot of my old mattress on the floor and quickly run down the creaky stairs which I'm surprised I haven't fallen through yet there that old

Only to be met with my father's eyes filled with rage "WHERE TF IS MY BREAKFAST YOU LITTLE SHIT" he yells making me almost freeze up "I- I'll- start it now sir" I say in an attempt to get me out of this situation but we both know it won't work "NO YOU WONT, your coming with me!" shit I think to my self as he grasps on to my hair and throws me down onto the floor making me hit my head and he starts lunging over and with absolutely no hesitation he start punching and kicking me that hard I can barely breath

"Plea- please stop" all I can do it kick and scream begging him to stop "I'm s-sorry" I pleaded and suddenly it stops I slowly open my blurry and teary eyes to see something In his hand something sharp "NO STOP NOT AGAIN PLEASE" I cry out realizing what it is as he digs the dagger even harder through my skin carving yet again another scar, suddenly my eyes start to feel heavy and my head is spinning and before I knew it i was knocked unconscious the last thing I heard was him laughing manically, I just wish this could all be over

I groaned slowly lifting my head up in an attempt to remember what happened and regain my strength I slowly turn my head to see if my farther is there and when I
Realize he's not I let out a breath "fuck" I mutter to my self remembering everything that happened in the last hour or so, I slowly lean back against the island counter but not for long when I get a stinging sensation in my back so I grab on to the counter and limp my way over to the bathroom as I look into the mirror I can't see anything that i could possibly like anymore I'm covered in scars and bruises and that's when I notice the scar my farther must of done earlier left on my back it says "unwanted" and I know after everything I've been through I will never be healed. But a girl can dream right?, non the less I take a big sigh and push those thoughts to the back of my head for now

I quickly check the time and see 9:00 am great well I guess I'm already late it doesn't matter if Im a little more late I quickly hop into the shower making my body mainly my back sting even more I have blue and black ribs there definitely broken I think to my self as I'm carefully washing the blood of me while thanking fuck my father isn't home he's probably out doing something illegal but nothing new

I quickly step out of the shower change into something that will cover most of the bruises and when I've done that I grab my old makeup bag and cover the ones on my face

I'm sitting in biology class which believe it or not I love biology so it's not to bad except I already know all this stuff and to be honest I'm quite smart for my age and I'm usually top of the class and with my situation at home I'd say that's pretty impressive and
as I'm filling out a sheet someone knocks on the class room door all of the students heads fly up to see who it is including mine, "sorry to disturb you sir but could we borrow Adeline miller with her stuff please" oh my god what could I off possibly done now I thought as I gather all my stuff and make our way out

As we walk she's keeps glancing at me in pity "what!" I say in a harsh tone getting annoyed and she just blatantly ignores me while we end up in the principals office now I'm thinking fuck knows what I've done to end up here

And as miss guides me in and instead of the usual eye roll I get of the principal it's different its almost saddens?
"Take a seat Adeline" I do as he says and notice this other lady behind him she looks well put together and a friendly smile and I can tell she nice just my looking at her eyes she gives me a warm smile, but I'm really not in the mood so just look down silently

"so why am I here exactly" I exclaim since no one had said anything In a few minutes "Adeline I'm sorry to inform you but ur farther as been involved in a car accident whilst drunk driving and he um well- didn't make it I'm so sorry" my head immediately shoots up theres no way? surely no it's possible? my eyes are wide and I try to make words come out but it just won't work "Hi! Adeline Im marry I'll be ur social worker for now I'll help u thought this" how is this women so happy it's a bit unnatural but anyways

"I- um- what?" Is all I can say with out my voice breaking then I realize "Wait I don't have anyone else what's going to happen to me?" I say starting to panic and almost shouting "hey don't worry about that for now first of all we're going to go to your home and gather ur stuff then sort it out ok?" Marry says calmly which eases my panic "um- okay" I say and she leads me out of the principals office I quickly look back glancing at my principal and he gives me a small smile and I just turn around walking out of the building along side marry then to the car she's taking to my house then to the police station I'm guessing
