The next day, the college campus was bustling with activity, but Ira remained isolated and withdrawn. She had barely spoken to anyone since the incident at the party, the weight of her secret crushing her.
Avi, determined to check on Ira, made his way to Ikshit's house, his heart heavy with concern. As he knocked on the door, he could sense her hesitation before it finally opened.
"Ira, I'm here for you," Avi said softly, his eyes locked onto hers. "What's going on? You're not talking to anyone, and I'm worried about you."
Ira's eyes welled up with tears as she looked at Avi. "It's just... everything," she whispered, her voice cracking.
Avi's expression softened, and he sat down beside her. "Ira, I'm here for you. Whatever happened, we'll get through it together."
Ira took a deep breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "Sid and his friend... they did something to me last night. And now, I think I might be pregnant."
Avi's eyes widened in shock. "Oh, Ira, no. This can't be happening."
Ira's eyes dropped, shame and embarrassment washing over her. "And to make matters worse, Sid's friend made a video of me and posted it online. It's gone viral, and everyone in college is talking about it."
Avi's face contorted in horror. "That's disgusting. We'll get through this, Ira. I'll help you in any way I can."
Ira's eyes locked onto his, a glimmer of hope flickering to life. "Thank you, Avi. Just knowing that you're here for me makes me feel a little better."
Avi's heart swelled with compassion. "I'll always be here for you, Ira. We'll face this together, and we'll get through it."
As they sat there, the weight of Ira's secret began to lift, replaced by a sense of hope and determination. Avi knew that he had to be there for her, and he was willing to do whatever it took to help her through this difficult time.
