Till We Met Again

Chapter Fifteen

We separate quickly, walking over to his desk chair. Apollo pulls me with him, sitting me on his lap. He gives me one more smile before giving me a look. Which tells me I need to unlock the door. "COME IN." Letting my shadows come back to me, the door opens revealing his to Sub leaders and the Beta, Eagon.

They all stumble through the door, almost looking like toddlers. The beta, Eagon speaks up first while the other two give me very different looks, Confusion radiates from I believe Damon. While what feels like apprehension if not anger comes from Esme. "I apologize Alpha, I tried to make them give you space. But once they heard about our guests arriving, they just had to come talk to you." Eagon gives us a regretful look. I could tell he didn't want them to come to bother us. So I give him a small smile in understanding, trying to make him feel better.

"Look at you, your Luna side shining through already," Scarlet says with a bit of sass in my head. I just give her a look, refocusing in on the conversation at hand. Realizing the door is still open, and that no one is moving to close it, I do. Reaching out with my shadows, I close and lock the door once more. Startling the new comers, I realize that, that may not have been the smartest decision I have made.

Apollo gives me a look, and I just give him a cheeky smile in return. But before he is able to speak, Esme does for him. "What the hell did you just do, who the hell are you, and why the hell are you touching Apollo!?" Esme all but yells in my direction. I can feel and see both Apollo and Eagon getting furious on my behalf. But I stop them through mid-link, catching them slightly off guard by doing so non the less.

"Let me handle this, and I will explain how I am talking to you privately." The both stare at me slightly in shock but overall stay quite. So, I slowly stand up, gaining Basil's attention. Once we are both standing or sitting in Basil's case, at our full height I speak. "I am going to give you one and one warning only to never speak to me or to your Alpha in that tone and so disrespectfully again."

I watch as she shrinks into herself before I continue. " What I did and can do is non of your concern at this time. Who I am and why I am touching ALPHA Apollo is because I am his mate and YOUR Luna. I understand that you two are fairly high ranking members of this pack, so I advise you to keep on my good side." I pause for a minute letting my words sink into their minds.

"Damon, that is your name correct?" Addressing Damon for the first time, he gives me a slow nod. Before I continue, I pet Basil allowing him to relax against the desk once more, and sit back upon my mate's lap. "What is the reason for your interruption." I look at Damon once more, never giving Esme the time a day. Apollo reaches down and grabs my hand, rubbing circles with his thumb.

Damon clears his throat, and looks around the room before speaking. "I apologize Luna, My fellow Sub leader and I thought it was important to meet what we now know is you and your companion as soon as you arrived. We didn't give Beta Eagon time to explain, Esme just ran ahead ignoring him, and I, not knowing what to do, followed without question." Damon looks down at his feet, to ashamed of his actions to look at me.

Using my shadows, I wrap around him gently, almost as if giving him a hug. I lift his head up so I can look at him in the eyes. Damon looks slightly alarmed, but relaxes once I speak. "My shadows will not hurt you with out my permission, they are kind creatures when told. Don't be afraid." I give him a look before starting again.

"Thank you for you honesty, that is something my kind doesn't take for granted. In all reality, it is something we hold deeply in our hearts. You, Damon were chosen to be a sub leader in this pack. Do not shy away from it. Follow your gut, do not be afraid to ask questions. As for you, Esme. I am not quick to judge,  so this one action will not identify who you are to me. But I can say I expected better coming from a high ranking member of this pack. And if  this behavior continues, I will not hesitate to replace you. We only have to best to lead this pack. This as I have already said is your only warning." I state in a stern tone. 

I can already tell that what I said made Esme angry. "Alpha how are you letting her speak to me like this. She doesn't know anything about this pack." Esme all but growls out. Apollo does not react kindly to this. He grows tense behind my back and growls a low, warning sound. "I stand by my mate. This is not how you act Infront of guests, let alone your own Alpha and Luna. I expect better from you."

Apollo takes a deep breath, trying to calm his wolf. "Your Luna will be announced later tonight, at the pack dinner. So what you have learned does not this this room. Esme, you will go help in the kitchen or doing any other task needed to prepare for dinner tonight. You are dismissed. As for you Damon, for are free as you please until dinner tonight." I release Damon of my shadows after giving him a final hug. Opening the door, Esme storms out with Damon following quietly afterwards. He at least at the decency to close the door this time.

Once the door is fully closed, both Apollo and Eagon are staring at me intensely. "How in the world did you get inside our heads." I give them both a sheepish smile. "I guess I should have warned you about that, not many people know I have this gift, not even Ashton. I can get into any link I desire. It was how I was able to cross so many borders without notice." I try to explain.

Eagon looks confused. "How does it work?" He asks trying to wrap his head around this new concept. "It is a little complicated, and even I am not sure how is truly works, but here is what I know. I can create a link in between mine, and virtually anyone's mind. No matter if they are human, shifter, witch or vampire. I can create a link and this link works just like it would between two mates or two pack member. But that is not all. I can also join an existing link without notice. For example, when we were at the border and Eagon, you were contacting Apollo trough mind-link, I was able to connect and listen to the entire conversation without you knowing. I don't do that often, because it is an invasion of privacy. But I have in the past and may need to in the future."

Apollo nods, "Thank you for being honest with us. Eagon, will you go back to preparing for dinner tonight. My mate and I have much more to discuss." Eagon gives Apollo a small nod, and me a gentle smile before turning around and walking out. Once he is out of the door, I stand up wondering over to the window. I can feel Apollos eyes on me, yet neither of us speak. Looking out the window, I can see some pack members training. 

"You are not the only pull I have here." I mumble quietly, Never taking my eyes of the window. "A guardian, the shifter I believe, is down there training. I am just not sure who from all the way up here." I finally take my eyes of the window. Making eye contact with my mate.

He looks at me with such determination, something I haven't felt in such a long time. "We will find them, all of them, together. I Promise." If only I could believe what he says with as much hope and passion as he shines. So instead I just give him a nod, and go back to staring out the window.
