"I'm sorry, but you know this is how it had to go," Jessica stated as she closed her eyes.

I awaken from the first sleep I've had since I had been shot. And as I would have thought, plagued with nightmares. As much as I don't want to say this will be a regular occurrence, we all know that isn't true.

The truth is, the day Jessica shot me, will haunt me for a long time. At least until I can figure out the truth. It may take a while to be at a point to be able to hunt her down and figure out what had made her change but I will. One day.

Anyway, now that I am awake, I know I won't be able to go back to sleep. I stand up from the bed and cross the room, looking out the window. "It's still dark outside." Scarlet startles me. "I can see that, I guess it is about four in the morning," I say will a roll of my eyes back to her. I guess this is the best time to take a shower, The others probably won't be awake for a while.

I turn around facing the room once more. I go over to the closet to see if there is anything I can put on after my shower. I guess I am in luck today, or Ash was thinking ahead and got some clothes that were in my size when I was still healing. I grab a random red dress from the closet and some undergarments and make my way to the bathroom.

The bathroom is beautiful. White with dark wood accents all over. And thankfully fully stocked with the necessitates so I can take a much-needed shower. "Scarlett remind me to thank Ash for all of this later." Scarlett just hums in acknowledgment. If I hurry up, I might be able to make them breakfast before they wake up.

With that in mind, I quickly strip down and hop in the shower. Trying to clear my mind and distract myself from the conversations that are awaiting me in the near future. I hum myself a little tune my aunt used to sing. As quickly as I was in, I was finishing up and getting dried off. I dress in the red sundress I picked earlier, and let my shadows and the wind element figure out what to do with my hair. Sometimes it feels as if my magic has a mind of its own.

Once dressed, as my hair is still being done, I wander quietly down to the kitchen. Letting my senses heighten, I can tell that Colton is still fast asleep, while it seems Ash just got up and had the same idea of taking a shower. Knowing that Ash will be a little, I start to make breakfast.

I assume they both would like coffee in the morning, I am more of a tea person myself, but I get both started anyway. "Scarlett, what do you think we should make for breakfast?" I asked her, I am not normally a breakfast person, so maybe she would have an idea. "Pancakes? Maybe some bacon and eggs too, I saw some in the fridge last night." She replies. Great idea, a simple, traditional breakfast.

Getting started quickly now that my shadows aren't still trying to fix my hair, I reach for the apron again and start mixing the batter. Once the batter is made, I pop the bacon into the oven so it is taken care of. This shouldn't take long, and by the time I am finished, Ash should be done and he can wake up Colton. I few minutes later, I am pulling bacon out of the oven and plating the table.

Ash comes out of his bedroom and stares out into the kitchen where I am working. I give him a gentle smile and nod towards the table then glance at Colton's bedroom door. Luckily without having to say anything, Ash understands and goes to wake Colton up for breakfast. By the time they are both finally out here and sitting at the table, I am platting the eggs, taking off the apron, and sitting at the table myself.

"Breakfast, made of Vanilla cinnamon pancakes, Scrambled eggs, and Bacon. Cooked my yours truly out of the suggestion of Scarlett. Please enjoy." I give the men a rundown of what is in front of them and allow them to start eating whenever possible.
