Zander X Female Reader

Episode 1 Part 3

It was lunch and I was working on another song for the band, specifically for Kacey, I got inspired by her voice. "What you writing?" Jack asked over my shoulder, I quickly shut my book, "Nothing." "Come on, I know its something," He tried to take the book off of me but I was holding it with a death grip. "Hey!" Zander yelled as he approached the table with Kevin and Nelson, "I need your answer at the talent show," Jack whispered and walked away before the boys got there. "Y/n, are you alright?" Zander quickly sat to the right of me then Nelson to the left of me, I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder, "How would you guys want a girl to let you down gently?" I asked the boys, "Well i once got told it wasn't my personality it was my face," Nelson started with. "I'm not going to do that, besides didn't Stevie slap her for saying that." He nodded "Normally I would agree that you should be polite, but he's a creep, and I don't think you should worry about how he takes it, he's going to be hurt anyway," Zander jumped in. "What do you think Kevin?" I then saw he was staring at his crush,Kim Davis, "I'll wait for Stevie to get here," I then opened my notebook again and continued writing.  

Kacey and Stevie sat down with us and Kacey began helping Kevin about talking to Kim Davis, when I was listening to the conversation I didn't realise that Zander was reading my notebook, "Wow," I turned to him and I saw his amazement, "I love these lyrics." "Thanks," I smile. "Would you show me how they sound?" "Well, Kacey hasn't learnt them yet and they aren't completely done." "I don't want to hear Kacey sing it, I want to hear you," My eyes widened. Then I got a tap on the shoulder from Nelson, he then pointed at Kevin going over to talk to Kim, "Zander look can't believe he's actually doing it," I say astonished. "He's actually talking to her, and he hasn't fainted yet," Just as Zander said that Kevin fainted, "And down he goes." I stood up and went over to Kevin to try and wake him up when Jack ran to help me, this startled me, "Oh my god, Jack you scared me," he just chuckled. "I know how loyal you are to your friends but," he gestured to Kevin, "why them." "There is nothing wrong with my friends," Kevin woke up and I pulled him to his feet, "And I've made my decision, I don't want to date you," I helped Kevin to our table. 

Stevie and I went into the Perfs bathroom because we both needed to go and it was the closest bathroom to us, "We know we are not supposed to be here but get over it cos we need-" I cut my best friend off. "Kacey?" "What are you doing here?" "She is here cause she's leaving your loser band, loser berry." I was heartbroken "This has to be a joke, I've started to write a song just for you." Stevie glanced at me then back at the Perfs, "Nobody cares about your song Freak," Molly shot at me. "Guys, we had a great day, can't that just be enough," Kacey spoke softly. "And to think, I was this close to fist bumping you," Stevie was getting angry but I didn't blame her, this whole thing was like a punch in the stomach. "We can still-" "Save it Perfy!" "I thought we'd make an amazing band," I was trying not to cry. "Are you even a part of the band?" Molly asked. "You people sicken me, come on Y/n we don't need to listen to them," Stevie and I left. 

I went to our band room alone, no one else was there yet so I just let my emotions out and began sobbing. Nobody cares about your song Freak! Are you even a part of the band? was playing in my head over and over. A minute or two later I heard the door open so I tried my best to wipe the tears away, "Hey, Stevie just told me about Kacey," Zander sat next to me. "Yeah, It sucks," I say trying to play it off like I wasn't that sad. "She also told me what Molly said to you," I sighed. He then gave me a hug, "I want you to listen to me, you are a part of this band, you are the reason we even have a sound in the first place." "He's right," We broke the hug and Stevie, Nelson and Kevin were all there this changed into a band hug, we may have lost Kacey but we were definitely not alone.

It was the day of the talent show and none of us were up for this, "Y/n," Stevie whispered in my ear, "Maybe you could try singing," I shook my head 'no'.  "Come on guys we can do this... right?" I say and Zander wrapped an arm around my shoulders, "Exactly, lets all pretend that we are rehearsing, and we have the best cheerleader in the crowd." I blushed, "Well you guys are the ones doing my songs justice, how can I not cheer," I found Zander's eyes again and I suddenly forgot what we were doing or where we were. "Hey guys," Kacey brought us back to reality, she was not wearing her braces and glasses. "You definitely don't look like us anymore," Nelson commented. "Don't get too close, my sweat could fire off and ruin your whole hair situation," Kevin added. "Shouldn't you be on stage with your fancy friends?" Stevie said with venom in her voice. "They are not my friends, and I know that you aren't either and that totally sucks for me cause you guys are pretty cool." I smiled at that, "Yeah we are." "Well I just screwed up the Perf's so show the school you can," she got into position, "Hold it down." She started to walk off but Zander and I once again stopped her, "Wait, we are a better band with you," I begin, "but if we let you back in the band, you can't bail on us before a big show, not cool," he Zander continued. "Hey, If i decide to rejoin the band, then you guys better keep up, cause I know how to rock," Kacey responded, Zander and I glanced at each other. "Well we're sold, what do you guys think," Zander spoke and Kevin and Nelson spoke over each other but I could tell they agreed. Stevie walked up to her, "So you want to be in Gravity 5?" "Yeah, I do." Stevie smiled, "Okay but you are not wearing that ridiculous viking thing on stage with us," I chuckled at that. "And we need to change the name of the band," The two girls fist bumped and they got ready to perform. Before I went to the crowd Zander tapped my shoulder so I turned to him, "can you try and get to the front? I want to be able to see you." I blushed, "I can't be the best cheerleader from the back?" "Yes you could, you are already the best," he smiled at me.
