Ember's P.O.V

17 years later

"Uncle Tails!" I called while running to his workshop

"What's up, kiddo?" Tails asked as he stopped what he was doing, not wanting to accidentally hurt her

"Who is this guy with mom?" I asked while showing the picture to Tails

Tails took the picture at he looked at it "Oh that is your dad."

"What happened to him? Is he with mom?" I asked since Tails never really talked about him

Tails shook his head no. "Nope... in fact, he should be being released today. Want to go visit him?"

I rapidly nodded. "YES!"

Tails giggled. "Alright, go get ready, and we can go greet him,"

"OKAY!" I called while running off to get ready

A few minutes later

After a few minutes, I was ready. "I'm ready!" I called while going to the front door

"Alright, let's go.." Tails said as he walked to the front door

I opened it as I walked out. Tails followed me as he did the same.

Not many minutes later, we walked inside a prison?

"Does dad work here?" I asked, confused

Tails chuckled a little. "Just wait and find out," he said while talking to the person who called over a soldier and told us to follow him, which we did. As he led us to a room

"Alright, you go in, and I will stay out here, okay?" Tails asked

"You're leaving me?" I asked while lowering my ears

Tails nodded. "I got things to do, but I promise you that he won't hurt you,"

I slowly nodded. "o-okay..."

Tails gave me a pat on the head before walking off as I walked into the room and sat down in a chair.

I was shaking a bit as I heard fighting and chains...

"Is this safe?.." I asked a soldier who didn't answer. I suddenly jumped when I heard someone hit the door and yell

"ENOUGH! DO YOU WANT TO STAY HERE FOR THE REST OF YOU FUCKING LIFE?!" A soldier yelled

Only to get growling in response that turned to a small yelp

"YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED A LONG TIME AGO! NOPE THEY HAD TO KEEP YOUR ASS ALIVE! YOUR LUCKY YOU GET OUT OF HERE! IF IT WAS ME YOU WOULD HAD A BULLET THROUGH YOU FUCKING HEAD!" The soldier yelled

"Umm...." I was about to say when I heard them open the door

"Now you be behaved! Someone is here to visit you!" The soldier whispered, yelled

I looked over to see a black hedgehog who looked to have been beaten as his ears were pinned and lowered

The soldier made the black hedgehog sit down before leaving us, be

I looked at him, and he looked at me. "Umm..... h-hello.." I greeted, shaking a little

"Hi," he said, his voice deep and weak

I looked at him in surprise, not expecting him to reply

"Uhhh... I'm Ember.." I told

His eyes widened. "E-Ember?..."

I nodded. "Yep..."

The black hedgehog held his hand out to me in a sweet manner. I hesitated before taking it only to be forcefully pulled in close.

"Ember!" He said as he held me close

"T-thats my name.." I replied, confused

"You've grown so much! Your mother would be proud!" He told

"Wait..... Dad?" I asked

"Yes, princess?" Shadow asked

"DAD!" I called as I immediately hugged him back

We stayed in the hug for a few minutes. "Hey... do you want to visit mom?" I asked

Shadow's P.O.V

I looked down at Ember.... visit Sonic?

"Of course!" I replied

Ember held her hand out. "Then let's go! Mom will be happy to see you again!"

I took hold of Ember's hand as we walked out of the room... not getting stopped as we made our way to the park

"You know where your mom is?" I asked

Ember nodded. "Yep! Tails showed me! I visit mom every day!"

I smiled when I heard that

It wasn't very long until we got to the park and walked through it to a graveyard... the entire way. No one looked at me as a threat anymore, and that made me happy..

"Here we are! Hi mom!" Ember said as she greeted the grave that read

"Sonic The Hedgehog, Hero Of Mobius!"

"Mom! I bought a visitor! I brought dad!" Ember cheered as she sat down

I smiled a little as I sat down next to her. "Long time no see, love," I replied,

Ember chatted to the grave about her day as I listened... finally... I am where I belong... with my family
