Walking against the cold cobblestone and marble plates beneath their feet couldn't even compare to the coldness lingering in the air as they approached the giant doors at the end of the hall. It was an intricate door, carved with fine details along with the giant carving of a face. It looked odd to the woman, something she had never seen before. It looked like a skull, just...not quite right for a skull. It was like the face of a monster.
"Thresh's chamber."
Braum gazed over to Sarah with a surprised but still calm look.
"Impressive! How can you tell?"
Sarah just narrowed her eyebrows at the door.
"I mean look at the door. It has 'villainous bastard' written all over it."
"I see..."
Braum said, now nodding as his tone began to match the low one of their captain.
Sarah then rested her hand on her hip as she looked up at him.
"Aren't you gonna offer to tear it down?"
Braum's smile beamed at her question.
"Hah! Yes! Braum is tired of asking. And waiting."
And as the giant said that they all moved slightly back as the freljordian held up his shield. Maybe there wasn't anything to be afraid of with such powerful allies by her side...but, that's not as easy as it's said. The poor woman hears the whispers in her mind disagreeing all the time. It was like a plague on the mind.
They keep calling to her. Except not by her name...
They always call her Isolde.
A loud thud rang across the hall as the door creaked open. Even this giant moment of a door sounded tortured.
Braum gave a reassuring smile to her and motioned his hand forward.
"After you, my friends."
"Well done."
The complementary voice of the priestess echoed.
Soon enough they all began to enter 'the beast's den'. The cold air of the room suddenly sending shivers down (Y/N's) spine. She couldn't help all those whispers. She couldn't help picking at her skin or scratching and tearing at it. It was all so... terrifying. And a part of her didn't even know how she even got into the position she was currently in. It was all so painful, in a way. Pyke refused to look at her ever since that argument, too. It was like everything she knew was standing against her right now.
Soon enough as they all stood at the chamber's center. They could finally gaze at the monster's silhouette. (Y/N's) eyes traveled along his frame with fear lingering at the back of her gaze. He was tall, wearing a cloak as dark as the mist that surrounded him. His face, his fingers, it was like a skeleton and yet like armor. Flames arose from within his body, engulfing his neck...or where it was supposed to be. He just looked so...demonic.
The confident voice of their captain suddenly interrupted the eerie silence.
"Are we interrupting? Please say yes."
The demon then slowly turned around, the clanking of the lantern he held in his hand was the only sound that echoed across the room. That's when he spoke...
His voice was unsettling to (Y/N). It was like an abomination. Multiple voices trapped behind one, forced to repeat and agree with the words this monster spewed.
"You are too late. My plan is already in motion."
A sickening grin spread across the demon's features. (Y/N) didn't even know how this could be possible but somehow she saw the strange happiness hidden behind his skeletal structure.
