Chapter 5: Drive To Survive

Liam

Brody and I headed to school and when we got there we went to where we have shop class and saw Hayley and Calvin and we saw him working on a motorcycle but if I had my guesses that would be he built it.
"Whoa you built that?" Preston asked.
"Uh yeah well sort of I took 3 junker motorcycles and salvaged enough to make one not too bad huh?" Calvin asked.
"I always wanted to learn how to drive a motorcycle." Brody said.
"Not me. Never will I ever want to learn." I said.
"It looks so fat I like it! Calvin can I please ride it after you, pretty please?" Sarah asked.
"Uh yeah even better, you can be the first to test drive it." Calvin said.
"What? No, no way you should definitely ride it first. You see how fast you can go I beat your record." Sarah said.
"No really its fine um seriously it's cool, it's cool. Just you can take it out for a test drive." Calvin said and we were all confused.
"Cal? What's the matter?" Brody asked.
"It's okay just tell them." Hayley said.
"I don't know how to drive. Cars or motorcycles." Calvin said.
"Hold on you drive your truck all the time right?" Preston asked.
"Well..." Calvin said.
"Actually I am his personal chauffeur you just never noticed." Hayley said.
"I don't get it. You love to work on cars so much." I said.
"Why don't you like to drive them?" Brody asked.
"One time when I was little, I was driving a go-kart on a track and the next thing I knew I was swimming out of a duck pond. And ever since that crash driving scares me to death." Calvin said.
"Sarah you're the speed expert right? How about you teach me and Calvin how to ride a motorcycle? That way you will see it's not so scary." Brody suggested.
"Okay yeah I'll make it my mission boys." Sarah said.
"I'll only do it if Liam does." Calvin said.
"What?" I asked.
"You're scared too!" He said.
"Yeah but he has a more traumatic reason." Brody said.
"What reason?" Calvin asked.
"You know what I am actually going to go speak to a teacher I forgot I asked to speak to them." I said.
"Liam wait!" Brody said but I just continued walking .

A little while later:
I met up with the others and I saw Brody nailing riding a motorbike and I smiled while I saw Calvin watching with terror in his eyes and I sighed. I knew how he felt. I then walked up to them.
"This is so epic!" Brody said.
"What how did he learn so fast?" Calvin asked.
"You got this Calvin!" Preston said.
"You can do it!" Hayley said.
"Yeah right." Calvin said as he then started going but he was a bit wobbly.
"I thought I would start him off small." Sarah said.
"Go Calvin!" Preston said. Brody then came back and he kissed me. We then watched Calvin and we watched as he fell down. We then ran over to him.
"Calvin!" I said.
"You okay?" Hayley asked.
"That crazy motorcycle almost just killed me." Calvin said.
"Oh I think you're exaggerating a bit." I said.
"And what would you know you're too scared to get on them for some unknown reason!" Calvin said.
"Calvin!" Brody said and he just walked away and Hayley caught him and they stopped.
"You okay?" Sarah asked.
"Yeah I'm fine." I said.
"You sure?" Brody asked and I nodded. Hayley then walked back over.
"He'll be okay, I'm sorry about what he said though Liam." Hayley said.
"It's fine honestly." I said.
"Oh careful there spider buddy you don't want to get squashed." Preston said as he bent down. All of a sudden, it grew big. It was a monster.
"Finally 4 rangers! Or as I like to call it...lunch." He said.
"Rangers aren't on the menu today." Brody said and we then morphed. We started to fight him. When all of a sudden he went up in the air and he tried to start sucking us in.
"Hold on." Brody said as we all held on to something. The motorcycle then went into him. The other 3 then went up.
"No!" I said as it was just me and Brody left.
"Brody." I said. He then went down and Brody and I started attacking him and then he went back up in the air and we both held on to something.
"Liam I'm slipping!" Brody said.
"No!" I said as I tried to grab him.
"Brody! Liam!" Calvin said.
"Calvin help Liam!" Brody said.
"No Brody!" I said as he then went and Calvin kept his hold on me. He then came back down again.
"I'm so full I need a catnap." He said and disappeared.
"Brody no!" I said as I demorphed.
"Hayley! Sarah! Preston!" Calvin said.
"They're gone they're all gone." I said as I walked away.
"Liam wait!" Calvin said.
"Calvin stop we need to go to the base and tell Mick and Redbot!" I said as I continued walking to the base.

Once we got there Calvin and I ran into the base where they were still making stars.
"Guys!" I said.
"Brody and the others are gone! I saw a monster eat them and Liam was barely hanging on! It was this spider." Calvin said.
"Cal Mick Li!" I heard Brody say.
"Brody!" I said as we ran to the screen.
"Are you guys okay?" Calvin asked.
"We can't move! We were all sucked inside that spiders canister along with your motorcycle." Brody said.
"And Hayley? Is she okay?" Calvin asked.
"She's fine. But our weapons can't break us out, we need something more powerful we're counting on you guys." Brody said.
"Brody!" I said.
"They are trapped inside a spider we need to get them out of there fast!" Mick said.
"How?" I asked.
"Redbot start scanning for their location." Mick said when Calvin gasped. We then looked where he was and the prism was showing his motorcycle.
"Whoa that's my motorcycle." Calvin said.
"Why would the prism should him that?" I asked.
"Well the prism never shows a vision without a reason." Mick said.
"That's it! My motorcycle is in the spider, the prism is giving me a clue on how to save the others. Have your forged any new throwing stars?" Calvin asked.
"Ah yes, here you go. Ah what exactly are you planning?" Mick asked.
"You will see how do I activate this into a ninja star?" Calvin asked taking it from Mick.
"You throw it into the prism as hard as you can. The ninja steel will be energised with new powers, transforming it into a ninja star." Mick said and Calvin stepped forward and threw the ninja star into the prism. He watched in amazement and it came shooting out and Calvin ducked as Mick caught it.
"You didn't mention that part." Calvin said.
"Oh uh sorry here." Mick said as he gave it to Calvin.
"I think I know what I am supposed to do with this star but it means that I have to ride that motorcycle and I don't know if I have the courage to do that." Calvin said.
"Look, the prism thinks you can do it and so do I." Mick said.
"Me too." I said.
"See you are the only one with doubts are you going to let your fear stop you from saving your friends?" Mick asked.
"Of course not! I have to try." Calvin said.
"Atta boy." I said.
"Thanks guys." He said and he went to leave but I stopped him.
"Cal wait!" I said.
"What?" He asked.
"I'm so sorry about earlier." I said.
"No I'm sorry I never should have said what I did." He said.
"I get you were scared." I said.
"Can I ask why wont you drive them?" He asked and I sighed.
"It's to do with parents something I would really like to forget but go and save our..." I started but then I felt faint and start to fall backwards luckily Mick caught me.
"Liam!" Calvin said
"I'm fine I just felt faint I am fine." I said.
"Go and save the others!" Mick said.
"I can't leave you! Brody will have my ass." He said and I chuckled.
"Don't just go." I said and he sighed before leaving.

A little while later:
Brody came running in.
"Liam!" He said and came to my side and hugged me.
"Babe I'm fine!" I said.
"Cal told me what happened are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah I felt faint and collapsed. Mick took some tests but hasn't got back to me yet." I said.
"I'm sure it's fine." He said.
"I hope so." I said as he helped me up and we got to the outside of the school where we saw Calvin driving his truck and we were all cheering him on.
"Oh yes Calvin!" Sarah said.
"Thank you, thank you guys I got my driving liscense!" Calvin said as he showed us.
"Nice." Brody said.
"So proud of you!" Sarah said.
"Congrats Cal." I said and high fived him.
"He didn't just pass he totally nailed it, perfect score, now I have a chauffeur." Hayley said.
"Trust me I was a little nervous but um I overcame my fear." Calvin said.
"Just like you overcame your fear and saved u." Preston said.
"Yeah we really owe you Cal, thank you." Sarah said.
"It's amazing the things you can do when the people you love are in trouble." Calvin said.
"Now that's magic" Preston said.
"And We have a rocking new ranger ride." Mick said as she showed us ninja stars.
"What!" Calvin said.
"Whenever you need them these stars will transform into mega morph cycles." Mick said. I then start feeling a little sick so I walked away.
"Li?" Brody asked.
"I don't feel so good." I said.
"Maybe you should sit down here." Brody said as I sat down on the pavement.
"Liam?" Sarah asked.
"What's wrong?" Hayley asked.
"I don't know he said he doesn't feel good." Brody said holding my hand.
"We don't get the test results for a couple of days." Mick said.
"Well something's wrong Mick!" Brody said.
"I'm going to be sick." I said.
"Just breathe." Brody said.
"Brody I'm scared." I said.
"Hey don't be it's going to be okay I promise." He said and he kissed my forehead. The sick feeling passes and I feel normal again so Brody and I head home and I go straight to bed.
