Born on June 14, 1939, Annika Zola, the daughter of Arnim and Mia Zola, is brought into a cruel world. The spitting image of her mother, she is the perfect, little baby girl with gorgeous blue eyes and blonde, curly hair. Though she did not inherit any of his physical traits, Arnim proudly smiled when the little baby was born.
Mia and Arnim Zola met at a diner. Mia was working as a waitress at the time while Arnim was meeting up with a new boss. While speaking about his upcoming experiments, Arnim's eyes glanced at Mia while she was taking a family's order. She felt someone staring at her and she simply winked at Arnim, sparking a love between the two.
When they found out Mia was going to have a child, the two were absolutely thrilled and terrified at the same time. Mia was scared of taking care of a child, especially since her husband worked with dangerous people. Arnim knew that a possible war was to come and worried about taking care of a child, especially since he was a part of the secret organization, Hydra.
Under the leadership of Johann Schmidt, Arnim joined the secret organization when he was recruited to help study and build advanced, powerful weapons. Schmidt desired to gain world domination. Mia disapproved of Arnim's job but didn't want to deny Arnim opportunities. Despite their differences, the two vowed to each other that no matter what happens, they would keep their daughter safe. Annika would be loved and adored. However, good intentions never last.
