Kavya's POV
I opened my eyes, unable to sleep. I checked the clock. It was six in the morning. My usual waking time. I couldn't sleep much last night. All the memories of us dancing flooded back to me. It felt like I was in a movie. The dive, oh my god. It was the experience of a lifetime.
I woke up and went out towards the balcony and open space. The sun fell upon me, and I felt that chai was missing. Otherwise, it would have been perfect. I stood near the balcony and saw the waves, almost getting lost looking at them.
I saw smoke coming from one corner. When I went closer, it was Natasha. She was in her pajamas, resting her back on the wall while her leg rested on the railing as she smoked a cigarette. I came closer; she didn't look pleased.
"You okay?" I stood beside her, and we both stared at the water. She laughed. "So all of a sudden, you care?" She continued, "Nishit told me you don't like me."
It came as a surprise to me. I was taken aback by the statement thrown at me.
"I was hoping to talk with you," I paused. "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have enjoyed the dive, the dance Aaryan and I had. I wasn't up for it, but I really liked it after all."
When I finished speaking, she just smiled at me and brought me in for a hug. "So we are good?" she asked. I nodded.
"I'm sorry, I can be a bitch sometimes. I really had an ugly fight with Nishit that day. We are really struggling," she mentioned while taking a puff on her cigarette. "I'm sorry to hear that," I said back while my excitement rubbed off, and I put on a concerned face. "Thank you for the invitation." I couldn't feel more gratitude towards her. If it wasn't for her, I would have never experienced such things, just because it wouldn't cross my mind to go on a cruise. I would have chosen the same old locations for traveling. "You're welcome," she said with a smile and was about to smoke another one, but I stopped her.
"How about we make breakfast? I heard there is a kitchen downstairs." "Oh, why not?" She liked the idea. "Nishit would be happy too. God knows it might ignite the spark in our relationship again." I could see the eagerness in her voice.
We both went downstairs and informed our husbands to meet us there after some time. Finally, I made some tea, and we prepared breakfast for them. We brought it to the open area and enjoyed the tea and breakfast while the four of us chatted, happily lost in each other's conversations.
It was about time we got off the cruise. Our cruise was parked, and we exited. We said goodbye to Nishit and Natasha and booked a cab to go home.
When I opened the door, the sudden tiredness took over me. All the energy was gone. It felt like my body wasn't able to move. Aaryan dropped his backpack and went to freshen up. I too changed into comfortable clothes.
I just went straight to the bedroom. One afternoon nap wouldn't hurt, right? Aaryan followed me to the bedroom. We both eloped into the bed, facing each other.
"Uff, it was fun," I said in my lazy voice, almost asleep as I looked at him. Those moments were still fresh in my mind. But when I looked at him, he was asleep, almost snoring out of tiredness. I laughed a little. After a few seconds, I felt his hand on my shoulder as if he was trying to pull me closer. I was surprised but amused. I rested my hand on his shoulder as well with my eyes almost closed. In a few seconds, I was sleeping in his arms, resting my head on his chest. I extended my hands, pushing myself deeper into him. I don't know how, but I had the best sleep.
As I drifted off, I felt a profound sense of peace. The cruise, the dance, the dive—all of it had brought us closer. I knew we would cherish these memories forever.
