"So... what happened between you and Luke earlier? He was staring at you so intently," Alex says, suggestively.

"No, he wasn't, and nothing happened," Liv says, and Alex gives her a doubtful look.

"Liv, I know that look, alright? It's the same way he and I looked at each other back during our fling in '95, okay? So, what happened?

Liv sighs, before filling him in. Olivia recaps the conversation she had with the Patterson boy, "...And I mean, I don't know what he meant by that?"

"By what?"
"'I'll always wait for you, til the end of time.' I mean, what would I do with that? Oh god, what if I like him and he knows it? What if that opens some sort of door between us and I can't close it and our friendship is ruined for eternity, Al?"

"Okay, well, you're first gonna write down what you just said cause that could be a really cute song, second, you're gonna shut up, and tell him yes! You guys both admitted to liking each other, alright? Please just tell him yes and get it over with!"

"But Alex, I can't! There's too many-"

"Variables, yeah, I get it, Ms. AP Calc, but Liv, you guys are made for each other, alright? Please just talk to him, okay?"
"But-"

"no buts, no cuts, no coconuts! Look, remember when you wrote that whole song just because you were jealous of a cheerleader?"

"How did you find out about that?"

"Um, I might have read your notebook when I was digging through the studio?"

"Alex!" Olivia hits him on the shoulder. "I'm sorry!" He puts his hands up defensively, "But the story and song are really cute, alright?"
