As Cole continued to talk to Princess Vania we where guided to our rooms. They where beautiful, pillars of such a pure white they could be mistaken for snow and gold trims that had such beauty they deserved awards. I stared. I hadn't stayed in a place as nice as this since I went on holiday before mum died.

It had just turned around 11:00 and as I paced around each bad feeling I thought I left behind coming back to me I heard a knock at the door. I looked around me grabbing the sharpest thing I could find and walked to the door. As it creaked open I was greeted with a grin that could light up towns however which faded as it saw the fork I was holding.

"Sorry! I could just hear you walking around and was wandering if you where awake. Your rooms right next to mine!" Jay spoke his voice getting lower and less fearful as I lowered the fork. I was in my pyjamas on with a jumper similar to him. I shit the door behind him and ushered him in. In the corner was 2 chairs and a small glass table over looking the piercing moonlight. I sat down cross legged on one of the chairs and watched him look around before sitting down on the chair opposite.

"I had a bad feeling about this place, but it seems nice, I don't think the princess likes me very much though." I looked at Jay across me and shrugged. Thinking about my last task at Silvers before coming here.

"What!? This place is amazing, I bet they have such good video games." He said excited I laughed, thinking back to when I used to play with Cole, as if he read my mind he asked "Do you like video games?"

"Yeah of course who wouldn't." I laughed, "I wouldn't be very good though, I don't think I've played since I was at home, so around two years." Jays expression changed, his eyebrows raised and his eyes became wide, I expected him to ask how I've gone without video games in two years but instead he asked something I never thought he'd ask.

"You haven't been at home for two years?" The boy questioned, a pitiful look on his face, although I live at Silvers I wouldn't call it a home, just somewhere I could stay and work and keep alive. Barely.

"Well I ran away at 15 and I wouldn't call where I was staying a home, Silvers I mean, they took me in but I worked and it wasn't the... nicest." I kept a straight face and didn't show the guilt I felt. Melody. "How long has it been since you've been home, I mean your childhood home?"

"A while I'll admit but wherever I'm with the ninja is my home now, they're my family." He said, I smiled, his frizzy hair looked red in the moonlight but his smile shone brighter. I was wearing a dark red T-shirt and plaid pyjama pants, I hadn't had anytime to get purple ones, so my arms where showing and as the moon rose higher in the sky one of the scars on my arm became clearer. It was weird, complicated and fading now, it was a zigzag, like tree roots but with harsher corners. "What's that scar from, on your arm?"

"It was one of my first missions, I think I had to get some fang thing, it was golden and weird, I had had very little training, they where gonna enter me in some dance competition but I got sent out to fight instead, someone hit me with something, I wasn't paying attention, I think I was trying hard not to scream at the earpiece I had in, whoever did it was apologising, assuming they thought I was young, I failed at that mission but thinking back that was probably a good thing..." Jay was staring at me like properly staring... "you good?"

"I'm so so so so so so sorry." He had his hands on his head, I was confused for a second before I realised, it's lightning, it was a lightning strike, and of course he was apologising it was him. He looked st me like just committed several war crimes. Unsure of what to do I started lighting snd pointed in his direction.

"It was you." I said still giggling at his worried expression.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to I swear." He replied.
