From Planets to Paws(Solarballs X Warrior cats crossover)

Chapter 5

Mercury was walking with Jupiter through the streets. It had been two or three days trapped on earth as a feline, and Mercury still has trouble adapting to the harsh realities of life as a cat. Despite Jupiter's attempts to reassure him, Mercury couldn't shake the feeling of displacement and longing for his celestial home. Mercury winced his paws, feeling sore from all the walking they were doing. "Hey Jupiter? " Mercury asked, and Jupiter gave a nod of acknowledgement, "Can we take a break? My paws are killing me! " Jupiter let out a sigh and nodded, leading Mercury under a bench.

As the two rested, two strangers that they had never seen before snarled at them. " What are you doing here, BloodClan fith?" " You don't belong in this territory," the two cats hissed. Mercury pressed his body to the ground, trying to look less threat to the cats, but Jupiter stood up, glareing down at the two. " Scourge owns all the streets; you have no right to boss us in our territory," Jupiter growled, glareing daggers at the two tom cats. The dark brown tom let out a chuckle. "Scourge doesn't own all the city! In fact, he is just a scary cat that can't go out of camp without being ripped to pieces! " The other tom, who was a black and white tom, joined the tom in mocking Scourge.

Mercury Glaze fixxed onto Jupiter, wondering what he was going to do with them. Mercury already knew the answer, but he didn't want to get beat up or killed. Jupiter snarled and, without warning, grabbed the black-and-white tom's scruff and shook violently. The tom was too rattled to fight back. but the brown tom suddenly lunged forward and attacked Jupiter, surprising him. Soon, the two toms were working together to destroy Jupiter. Mercury was unable to stop the scene before Cowardly fled into the shadows. Jupiter was managing to fend off the two toms, but they kept breaking his legs and landing heavy blows on him.

Mercury, with a brust of enagry, leaped on top of the black and white tom, who was about to dealiver, slashing his claws at Jupiter's neck. Mercury bit down on the black and white tom's neck as blood flew past his blurred vesion and adrenaline surged through his small frame. The tom let out a pained yowl, trying to shake Mercury. Mercury could feel the tom's claws raking his body before Jupiter bit the back of the tom's neck, killing him.

Mercury spit out the taste of matalic and gagged, seeing the blood pool around the dead tom cat. The brown tom, seeing its parter was killed, ran with his tail between his legs. Mercury rushed over to Jupiter, who was covered in scratches and blood but still alive. "Jupiter, are you alright? What was with the cats?" Mercury asked, worried that Jupiter would just bleed out and die on the spot. Jupiter winced in pain but pushed through it. " Just some strays desperate for food. " Jupiter snarled as he limped away, leaving a trail of blood behind him. Mercury followed close behind, ready to help in any way he could.

"You did good, Mercury. " You did good. " Jupiter said in-between breaths as they made it back to their den. Mercury had a sense of enlightenment. honoured? Thanks," Mercrury stuttered, feeling a surge of pride at Jupiter's praise. Despite the danger they had faced, they had made it out alive and had even managed to fend off the aggressive cats. Mercury settled down next to Jupiter as though, through the broken window, the first stars were starting to shine in the sky.

Mercury sighed, missing seeing the stars up close, and he hated to admit it. He missed Venus as well. Mercury glanced over, seeing Jupiter was asleep, his chest slowly rising. Mercury smiled before staring back at the night sky, wondering how the sun and the planets were dealing with his absence.

Venus and Mars were playing space poker when a solar flare nearly hit them. Mars was spooked and turned to see that the sun was shooting solar flares like crazy. " What's going on with the sun today?" Mars asked, feeling concerned. " I don't know, and I don't care " Venus said before picking up the cards again with his gravity. " am not sure, Venus. Mabye, we should check on him." Venus let out a laugh. "HA! If I go over there, I'll just get solar flared; besides, the sun will stop when his pet planet tells him to. " Venus said before the sun's voice boomed, "WHERE IS MERCURY?! " Mars looked at Venus with a worried look. " Uh oh, " Venus said, putting the cards away. Mars also put away the cards they were playing and quickly hovered over to where the sun was. Venus stood there, not sure what to do, before he followed after Mars.

"Uh, hey, Sun, everything alright there? " Mars asked with concern. Venus just followed behind Mars and went to stand by Mars side. Sun looked inraged as he turned to face the two rocky planets. "NO! Mercury is gone! " Sun yelled, his eyes twitching in rage. Mars backed away a bit to get some distance from the sun. "Um, maybe Murcery is just orbiting a different planet? " Mars tried to calm the sun, but it only made him angry. "NO! HE'S GONE. I KNOW WHEN MY PLANETS LEAVE THE SOLAR SYSTEM! " The sun roared, scaring Mars and Venus to their cores. "But that's impossible! He couldn't be flung out of the solar system. One of us would have seen it! " Mars said he was worried for Mercury's wellbeing. Venus was shocked while trying to process this new information. Sure, he hated mercury, but he didn't want anything bad to happen to him. " I'll get Jupiter; I'm sure he knows what to do." Venus said, leaving without Mars or the sun to tell him to. As Venus speeded away to Jupiter's orbit, something strong grabbed him. "Whoa- Hey! What's going- " Venus yelled, but before he could call for help, darkness took over.
