It's so hard to name a chapter without giving stuff away. No wonder most books and fanfics just go with simple numbers. Of course I, [Dio], being Mizuki, must overcomplicate things with the addition of extra words.
And, why does it always bring me to the bottom of a chapter when I'm trying to write it, hmph! _φ(・_・ (I wanna read it first before continuing! A lazy way of grammar checking, haha)
Also, I am today-years-old when I realise that the pen-name I use happens to be the same name as a character I'd written before. Maybe this is from writing too many short stories and creating too many characters. I'm beginning to run out of creative juice for names in my own fictional stories, especially when I get attached to the same names ^-^"
But... I've managed a two-day early update, yay! I'm also too excited to properly proof-read, so forgive my impatient brain if you spot anything. I'll read through it completely while writing the next chapter! >:D
TW: Possibly upsetting descriptions of violence and suffering.
By the time the festivities were over, it was the dead of night and both you and Link were conflicted about waking Purah up at such a time. Especially when Link told you that she takes her sleep very seriously. That was a sleeping bear that you did not need to prod.
So, there was no choice but to help tidy up the remnants of the celebration and head to sleep yourselves. You were so exhausted that you'd already forgotten about the night before many others, of a vivid dream where you could feel the flames burn beneath your feet, your body trapped on the ground and unable to move, like a fly trapped in a spider's web.
Although, it didn't take long for you to remember that very same nightmare, the events repeating themselves again and again, until they were burned into your mind. You breathed a sigh of relief when you managed to break free from the seemingly endless cycle of madness, eyes open in the foggy pitch-dark of the room. Too tired to fall asleep, yet there was no chance you would be anytime soon. So you laid awake, thinking and thinking, hoping that your mind would eventually be set at ease.
Was it? You couldn't tell. Your mind running in a frantic frenzy only burned it numb and you could no longer tell the difference between the darkness of the room and the darkness of your closing eyelids.
All in all, it made the night much more difficult to pass than you thought it would, but when you finally saw the crack of light pass through the windows, you were taken by an anxious comfort. You readied yourself for the day quickly and headed out to see if Link was awake. Sure enough, he was already there: probably used to being an early-riser from all of his adventuring. Nevertheless, that was something that you were unsure you would ever be able to do, especially in recent times.
You caught up to him while he was adjusting loose parts of his gear. "I guess it's time to visit Purah, then!" You stated, after a quick good morning. As you had already visited her before, you remembered where she was staying in Kakariko village.
You went ahead and knocked on the door... though you weren't met with the stature of a small child with very large glasses.
"Sorry, that's the next door down," the Sheikah villager clarified, pointing out the way.
Your tiredness was getting to you, clearly.
The second door swung open, and you looked down to see the short Sheikah researcher. You were about to smile and say a hello, when you realised that Purah did not look quite as cheerful as she normally was. Instead, she quickly ushered the two of you inside. You looked to Link to see if he would know anything, but he shrugged his shoulders - returning the same blank expression of confusion.
