We had been talking for a while when we decided to wrap up. "Wait I have one question I've been meaning to ask" Nick yelled. "What's everybody's thoughts on dating in the friend group?" I stiffened immediately.

"I mean I don't think it's a good idea to be honest", Sage started "I think if the couple ends up breaking up on bad terms then there goes the group everyone chooses sides". Devin nodded his head.

"I think if you can handle it and just be mature about it then it should be fine." Cynthia said.

"Mm I think it can be good you don't want someone holding back their feelings because that isn't good for them" Maru started.
"You never know this could be the person you're meant to be with and just because you don't want to make your friends uncomfortable you're not taking the chance" Maru said eyeing me and Sean from across the table.

"I agree with Maru" Sean said putting his hand on my leg.
"I think if you hold back your feelings just because you don't want to rock the boat you could be missing out on something great."  He finished hand tightening on my knee.

"Big words for Mr. Commitment Issues" Nick laughed.
"You've been pretty quiet Vee, what do you think?" Nick asked eyes locked on me.

"I can see both sides to be honest" I trailed off. "I think that if something bad happens it can be hard for the group to stay neutral.
On the other hand though if you really think that this person could be good for you and you've had feelings for them for a long time that haven't  gone away and they feel the same way.
Then I feel like you both owe it to yourselves to at least try and see where it goes.
You don't need to announce it right away to you're friends if you're not ready for that but I think it could be worth a shot for an opportunity to have something great" I trailed off.

Everyone nodded their head understandingly, Nick took a breath before speaking
"I think it's up to the couple to be sure about how they feel cause imagine us. Let's say Veronica and Sean end up dating after all this time that we've been teasing them that they need a room.
If they do end up taking that step and deciding to date then I think it's up to them to both be mature about how they're gonna go about their relationship. Let's say Sean Aka Mr. Commitment Issues decides  a few months down the line this isn't what he wants anymore he wants to go back to being single are we gonna end up taking sides should we end up taking sides?" Nick asked looking at us.

"Honestly if they didn't do each other dirty then I honestly feel like we don't need to get involved or take sides." Devin said
" If they break up because one of them is cheating or being toxic then that's when I feel like I would choose a side, but something mutual I wouldn't care about" Devin finished.

"It's just something that honestly is hard it depends on the two people if they're compatible or if they just need to be kept away from each other" Cynthia said twirling her pen around on the table,

"Alright ladies and gentlemen that is all the time we have today. Thank you for tuning it and please like and subscribe" Nick yelled at the camera.

Once we got the ok to stand up I immediately took Sean's hand off my leg and jumped up from the table. "I'm gonna go change out of this dress" I said quickly before making my way into the living room where I had tossed my backpack.

All I could think about was the last question as much as Nick annoyed me when he asked it I couldn't help wondering if he was right. As I made my way to the bathroom to change two questions kept playing on repeat in my head
'Are me and Sean making a mistake by getting together? Are we gonna end up hurting the group?'

By the time I had made my way out of the bathroom everyone had already made their way into the living room. Sage and Devin were sitting on the couch looking for something to watch on Max, while Sean and Nick were in the kitchen grabbing something from the fridge.

"Where'd Maru and Cynthia go?" I asked moving to sit beside Devin on the couch.

"They went to go change too, everyone's trying to figure out what we're gonna eat. Me and Sage said we should go to that one Mexican spot down we always used to go to.
Nick keeps saying he wants to try out a hot pot place and Cynthia and Maru said they want wings. Sean says he can go for whatever. What do you think we should get?"

Before I could answer I heard Sean and Nick approaching from behind. "Have you guys decided yet?" Sean asked moving to sit next to me on the arm of the couch.

"Veronica still has to decide" Sage said flipping through movie categories.

"Hot pot sounds like it could be good" I said playing with the hem of my shirt. Just as I finished answering Cynthia and Maru made their way downstairs.

"So what are we eating?" Cynthia asked throwing her bag on the coffee table.

"We're at a tie" Devin said. "We need Sean to make the final vote for where he wants to go".

"I could do hot pot" Sean said looking down at me. "I heard it's good especially now that it's getting colder outside".

"Alright I'll look for a place around here then we'll go" Maru said pulling out her phone. I took a breath telling myself to relax and just breathe.

As we waited for Maru to choose the place we had all started talking about what we should watch while we wait. I had started getting comfortable and soon I completely forgot about everything that was said at the end of the podcast. For now I was with my friends and the guy I liked and everything was good.
