She didn't turn on the light, and the cold night swallowed up the last trace of light. I don't know how long it took, but there were two banging sounds in her ears, like the sound of someone knocking on the car window.

A girl wearing a red scarf stood beside the car window.

Crystal lowered the window and said in a surprised tone, "Jade, why are you here so early?"

"Didn't we make an appointment to meet at ten o'clock?" Jade said. Crystal asked, "How long have you been waiting here? Why didn't you call me?"

"I didn't wait long," Jade replied.

"I was worried that it was unsafe for you to drive, so I didn't call you," Jade said. Crystal got out of the car and patted her shoulder, "Go up, it's too cold outside."

Jade took a step to the side. "No need."

"Are you afraid of meeting Brandon?" Crystal said with a smile. "Brandon hasn't finished work yet, so there's nothing to be afraid of even if you do meet him. He just doesn't seem to have a bad temper and won't do anything to you."

"Yes, sister," Jade said, "Brandon doesn't like me, so I won't go over."

"You are too worried." This girl has been suspicious since she was a child, and her parents are even more partial. It made her feel inferior. The conversation between the two caused the sensor light to turn on.

Under the orange light, Jade's face became particularly clear. She has a pair of extremely beautiful eyes. It was obvious that she had a rich and flamboyant appearance, but because she was always treated badly, she became a little gloomy.

After hearing what she said, Crystal stopped insisting and took out a bank card from her wallet, "There is 800,000 on this card. Didn't you want to go abroad very early? Studying abroad? This money is enough for you to pay the agency fee." She put the card in Jade's hand, "Happy birthday to you, Jade." Crystal missed Jade's eighteenth birthday, so she decided to give her an unforgettable gift.

Jade looked at the bank card in her hand, her focused expression gradually brightening. She looked at her bank card and then at Crystal, a little confused and a little shocked, "For me?" Crystal nodded heavily, "It's for you." "You deserve the best my sister." Studying abroad has been Jade’s dream since she was a child.

She wants to escape from a family where she has to share a bed with her younger brother. To eat fish, she can only eat fish heads, and she has to eat fatty meat that no one wants. Winter is always cold. She wears cotton clothes to the point of nausea, she doesn’t have her own room, no one loves her, and they say she doesn’t deserve anything... But now someone tells her that she deserves it, and deserves the best.

Crystal wrapped her hand around hers and closed her palm. Because of too much force, it almost became a clasp of fingers. A familiar temperature came from the palm of her hand, which came from Crystal's body temperature. Jade had not felt such a hot temperature for many years, which made her feel a little greedy, unwilling to let go.

She felt that almost her whole body was about to heat up, and her heart, which had long been rotten, was about to be burned out. The cold weather made Jade's face a little red, and most of her face was buried deeper in the scarf.

She seemed to be thinking about something and quietly remained silent, "In this case, sister, I will leave first. Yes." She patted Crystal's hand as if she didn't know when they would meet next time, "Crystal, take care." Crystal stood quietly downstairs for a while after Jade left. She gave Jade all the money she had accumulated over the years in the Ford family, which gave Jade a way out, but where was her way out? Is it Brandon? Crystal paused; she didn't know either.
