Hi! This is the new Brittana book i'm starting. My last book didn't seem to be getting much popularity and I kinda just lost the plot, so I'm starting a better, longer story.

"I can't believe you're actually making me do this."

Maribel Lopez rolled her eyes at her daughters' complaining. The woman was moving with her daughter to a suburban town in the middle of nowhere. After Santanas' parents divorce, Maribel decided it was no use for them to live in New York anymore and made the move out to Ohio to reconnect with her family and her old friends from her high school days. "San, honey, you know I love you, but if you don't stop complaining, I'm gonna take off my shoe and throw it right between your eyes!" Santana rolled her eyes and popped in her AirPods, opening Spotify to shuffle songs from Taylor Swifts' "Lover".

Maribel continued to ramble on to Santana about how much fun she would have at her new High School, but Santana just zoned out, thinking about her friends from her cheerleading squad at her old school. "Why can't I just stay back at home with Dad? I have a life, you know!" Maribel sighed, wishing she could tell her sixteen year old daughter the full situation, but knowing it would be best if she just stayed silent and let the young girls questions deflect off her.

Santana checked her phone to see it was already 5 pm. At least they were almost at their new house. "I like shiny things, but I'd marry you with paper rings" Santana sang quietly while staring out the window, the endless farmland blending together for miles.

"God gifted you with such a talented voice, my love, why don't you ever use it for anything?"

Santana scoffed at her mom's suggestion, "What do you want me to do? You want me to audition for a musical or some other loser shit?" Mirabel shook her head, but stayed quiet, just wanting Santana to be happy more than anything.

The two Lopez women made it to their new home two hours later, Mirabel excited to get a full in person tour, having only seen it online. While Santana was adamant about the uprooting of her home, she was very much impressed by the
mansion-esque abode she would be moving into.

"Damnnn! This place is nice Mama! How did we even afford it?" Santana gawked at the 4000 square foot castle looking house in front of her.

"Let's just say your dad owed me a lot of money in the divorce settlement." Santana giggled at her Mothers response as the older woman slung her arm around the sixteen year olds shoulders. "Let's go check out the inside!"

An hour later found both women lounging on their brand new white couch, shooting dinner suggestions back and forth at each other.

"Pizza?"

"Nah, I had pizza last night."

"Chinese?"

Santana shrugged and showed little interest in her mom's suggestion. "I saw some cool Italian looking place on the way over here. It was only like 10 minutes away." Mirabel hopped up and grabbed her keys, skipping out to her car and shielding her head from the attacking rain above her. Santana joined her in the car a minute later.

Ten minutes and 5 miles later, the Lopez's arrived at a bustling parking lot filled with people of all ages looking for some food. "Hi, Welcome to Breadstix, how many people are in your party today?" Santana and Mirabel were sat in a boot near the back of the restaurant after a short wait.
