It had been almost three weeks since Santana had watched Brittany kiss that blonde girl in her driveway. She had generally avoided the girl who had been so inviting and kind to her in the beginning of the summer, in fear that she would be embarrassed if she talked to her.
Unfortunately for Santana, she wasn't able to change around her work schedule and she had to face the music today, because her and Brittany's shifts lined up for the first time in weeks.
Santana heard a rapping on her front door downstairs. "Santana! Are you home??!" She rushed down to the door to meet the girl who had recently become her closest friend in Lima. Her name was Quinn Fabray and she was the girl Santana had served her first day on the job at Breadstix.
"Hi Quinn! What'd you bring today." Santana looked into the blonde girls arms and saw that she had brought Legally Blonde and Sour patch kids. "Legally Blonde again??" Santana pretended to be angry, but she was really just giving her friend a hard time.
"Okay, so there was this one girl that I saw and-" As she plopped down onto Santana's couch, Quinn stared to ramble on about what Santana assumed was a well memorized list of potential girls that Quinn could set her up with. Santana stopped her before she could even name one.
"Quinn, I told you, I'm not really looking for a relationship right now." Well, she wouldn't say no if a certain blonde neighbor asked. Quinn threw her hands up in the air, feigning defense.
The girls popped Legally blonde into the dvd player and watched as the movie started.
"Knock Knock Knock!" Santana and Quinn turned to face each other, confused as to why someone was knocking on the door to the Lopez house. Santana got up and hurried to the door to find Brittany standing patiently on her steps. "Hi!" Santana furrowed her eyebrows a bit, unintentionally still a little bit resentful towards the tall girl.
"What are you doing here?" Santana questioned, sounding a bit meaner and angrier than she had originally intended.
"I just thought I'd stop by and say hello, I haven't really seen you in a while."
"Yeah, Sorry. I've just been, like, really busy with... stuff."
Brittany raised her eyebrows and nodded. Luckily the two were saved from awkward conversation by Quinn, who was yelling at Santana as she made her way towards her, "Santana! What's taking you so long? You've been out there for like five minutes!"
"Quinn?"
"Brittany?"
Santana connected the dots that they knew each other from cheerleading. Quinn was quick to ask more questions, "What are ya doing here Pierce? Shouldn't you be over at your girlfriend's house or something?" Santana may have told Quinn about her slight crush on Brittany.
"Well, if you had let me finish talking to Santana before you barged in on our private conversation you would know, Fabray." Brittany imitated the other girls' playful and aggressive demeanor. "I was just gonna see if Santana wanted to come over to a party at Kitty's house later tonight. It's nothing too big, just a few friends. You in?"
Santana stumbled with her words a little bit before picking herself back up, "Umm, I, Yeah Sure, I'd love to."
Brittany smiled at Santana. "Great, I'll send you the details later. You can come too, Quinn." Brittany winked at the black haired girl before turning and walking away.
