Caytlinn's POV

Last night Steve talked with me for a long time, but I don't remember what he talked about. It was longer than expected, and I'm surprised that Steve could talk for that long. It was usually Mike doing the talking. I was so focused on the Russians, the code, everything. I slinked around my room and changed into my other non-dirty uniform. I was in my bathroom when the radio crackled on under my sheets. I turned on my heels and jerked my sheets away in order to grab my radio. I fumbled with the buttons but finally stood up and held the radio to my ear.

"What?" I snipped, annoyed. I needed to get going and couldn't wait for this nonsense.

"Finally! Someone answered!" Lucas exclaimed. Sounded like he needed to talk or do something with me on the line.

"What do you want? I have to get to work. So hurry up,"

"Listen, Max is coming over. And we need you. This is a code red. I repeat, a code red!"

"Why is everything a damn code red?"

"No, this is a code red. Like a real one! We need the party to get to Mike's as soon as possible. Have you heard from Dustin?"

"Nope. No, haven't heard from him," I lied. They didn't care about Dustin, they ditched him the first day he got back. At least I was staying close to him. Well whatever was left of him anyways.

"Well... we..."

I turned off the radio and tossed it onto my bed. I hurried downstairs, and Steve was waiting for me. He drove us to the mall in silence. He parked and we headed inside. Robin informed us that Dustin had gone to do some sort of surveillance on the Russians and that Matthew had stopped by before hurrying off somewhere, but he said he was going to come back.

Steve and I paced around the room, as Robin sat down at the table. My brother finally took a seat, and I leaned against the wall. Dustin walked in and stood next to me. My skin crawled as he stood there like nothing happened, but the feeling passed. I heard knocking on the door, and I opened the door. Matthew was standing at the door, gripping on tightly to his backpack. He walked into the back room and set down his backpack, running his hand through his hair.

"So. What are we doing right now?" Matthew questioned. His hair flopped in front of his face, his curls curling into one another.

"Planning," Robin replied. "Strange child over here went on surveillance and he has things to share with the group."

"Okay. Okay! That keycard opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with this keycard also has a massive gun. Whatever's in this room, whatever's in those boxes they really don't want anybody finding it," Dustin explained, starting to pace in front of me and Matthew.

"But there's gotta be a way in," Robin sighed under her breath.

Steve grabbed his Ahoy hat and blew into it, popping the top of it. I knew that look. I hated that look. He was planning something, most likely something stupid. "Well, you know...I could just take him out," Steve smirked, leaning on the table with his hat.

"Take who out?" Robin asked, tiling her head looking at my brother. My idiot of a brother. I got the brains, he got the looks.

"The Russian guard," Steve answered like it was nothing. "What? I sneak up behind him. I knock him out and I take his keycard. It's easy."

"Did you not hear the part about the massive gun?" Dustin asked, crossing his arms and tilting his head. Dustin hide his curls and Matthew showed his off.

"Yes, Dustin I did. And that's why I would be sneaking," Steve clarified, sassing Dustin like he was his own son.

"Well, please tell me this and be honest, have you ever actually...won a fight?" Dustin asked, crossing his arms. He was going to enjoy this, and frankly, so was I. Steve had never won an actual fight and I doubt he will, but I was willing for him to prove me wrong.
