Author's pov...After Saransh left Meera slided behind the door and slumped on the floor with thud.
Tears were continuously brimming from her eyes. She hugged her knees and hide her face keeping her head on her knees.
She covered her mouth to stop herself from making any noise. Her parents will definitely ask her reason if they heard her cry. And right now she don't want to hurt them.
They can't bear the truth now.
When Meera remembered her meeting with doctor few hours ago. Her eyes again filled with tears.
Meera got call from hospital and they urgently asked her to visit hospital. She denied saying she will visit tomorrow and she have to meet someone important.
But doctor being Dhruv's close friend requested Meera to come hospital first as it's very important. Not having any other choice she thought to visit hospital first and then meet Saransh.
She went hospital and got the biggest shock of her life. Ground slipped under her feets and tears started flowing unknowingly.
"This can't be true. No..no there must be something wrong doctor. How's this is possible?" Meera said trying to make sense.
"I know Meera this is very big and shocking revelation to you but you are suffering from brain tumor. Your reports are positive. Please try to understand and-.."
"Understand?" Meera cut him off in the middle and bursted "Should I understand that I'm about to...to d..die? Should I understand I don't have much time left? How am I supposed to understand that I can't live longer. How am I supposed to understand that each and every day I'm dying slowly" Meera said little loudly. She didn't bother to stop herself from crying. Her voice has become hoarse eyes nose and ears red due to crying.
"Meera tumhe sambhalna hoga khud ko tum aise kamjor nhi pad sakti. Hume is bimari se ladna hai Darna nhi" doctor said consoling Meera and forwarded glass of water for her to drink.
(Meera you have to be strong. You can't be weak in this situation. We have to fight this illness not get scared)
Meera kept quiet and looked at the pen stand kept on his desk. Doctor was talking to her but her whole attention was somewhere else. She stopped crying but tears weren't stopping.
"Finish your all work as early as possible. It will be good if you are in doctor's observation so Please come hospital and get admitted as soon as possible. There are many tests we have to perform on you and here team of doctors who will study your case and look after you. And if you have insurance apply for it's claim-"
"What's my survival rate?"
"After surgery and performing chemotherapy radiotherapy you can live upto-.."
"What's my survival rate doctor?" Meera again asked calmly. This calmness is before the Strom arrivel. Doctor huffed and look down seeing her so broken.
"22% chances of survival few more months or maybe a year"
"And without surgery and all?"
"25-30 days"
Meera got up from her seat and grabbed her purse.
"Where are you going Meera-"
"I need time doctor. I need time to think clearly. And I have many pending works which I have to complete before getting admitted. I want to fight this disease. I want to fight with this illness even if my survival rate is only 22% percent or may be 25 to 30 days" Meera said and came out of hospital.
