PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS: Sami Samreen is quiet and reserved, but he can be considered a wild card and has a unique sense of humor. He has an affinity for American culture, he loves rock music, and he is a huge cat person. He is steadfast in his morals and beliefs, but when it comes to his hobbies and culture, he is torn between Jordanian and American culture, and he does not really want to choose. He is very responsible, but his insecurities have the tendency to get the best of him, and he is very influenced by outside factors. He is a romantic and a daydreamer, and struggles with finding balance in his life.
CHARACTER ARC: Sami and his family moved from Jordan to America when Sami was fifteen years old, a few months after his father died of a heart attack. His mother had to support the family and she found better opportunities in America. Sami never really fit in anywhere. To Jordanians, he was too American, and to Americans, he was too Jordanian, so he kept to himself. Right now, he is trying to figure out what he wants to do with his life. He is in college as an engineering major but he finds no interest in engineering.
