PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS: Sadie has a way of making people second-guess her. She is often happy and chirpy, but no one knows whether not she is genuine. This is a survival mechanism. She does this to make friends but keep them at arm's length so that she doesn't hurt them or get hurt. Despite her confident demeanor, she is insecure and is always a follower, never a leader. She likes it better that way, but if she dislikes something, she will speak up about it. No one ever knows what is coming next from her. Not even her.
CHARACTER ARC: Sadie was born into a group of nomads known as Totemists who were against violence and lived in the outer territories of the Badlands. One day, when she was a teenager, she got cut on a knife during meal time and passed out. When she woke up, several people were dead, including her parents, and she was banished for killing them. She was rescued by a group of different Totemists led by someone named Pilgrim, who helped her realize that she had what was called the Gift, and helped her utilize it along with several others like her. She was well aware of the dangers in his ways, but she believed that it was the only way to survive, so she accepted the life as it was. She eventually grew numb to it. When the Totemists rescued a boy named M.K., she helped him adjust and tried to convince him if Pilgrim's message. They eventually fell in love, but he died at the hands of his former captor, leaving her devastated.
