Bella's POV

I sat at my desk, I had been staring at this piece of paper for what felt like forever. The pen was in my hand, the words 'To the Volturi' written at the top. I knew it was a bad idea, it was probably worse than the idea I had getting with Edward in the first place, but I felt the need to do this, to put them in their place. I knew there was a chance Alice could see this, but after everything I had done, it didn't seem like it. Maybe she had seen it all but didn't care enough to come see me. I know it sounds stupid, but I think the one person leaving that hurt the most was Rosalie. I knew she didn't like me but I thought she would be the last person to up and leave Forks, after complaining about the chance of it happening.

I sighed and started writing, there was no stopping now. I wrote down everything I could think of, I knew they had broken the law, and Rose wasn't afraid to say it. I wrote everything I knew, who I was, that I was human and Edward made a mate claim that I had no belief in. Once I was done filling the paper, I put it in the envelope, put a stamp on it, and wrote the name and address on the front, adding my details on the back. Sure that meant they could come find me, but what would be the point in trying to run? I got in my truck and started driving. I had decided I would just drop it off at the post office on my way to see Leah and Jake, they were the two people I was close to that would understand. I got out of my truck and walked in, handing it to the lady with a smile. She smiled at me since everyone in this town knew who I was. Once she was done I walked out and got into my truck, pulling out and driving to the reservation.

I sighed. I knew they would get it soon and it would be almost instantly that I would hear from the kings. I had hope that they wouldn't come find me but I knew it wasn't going to be that easy. Especially if they wanted to prove the claims, but I didn't know if that would be possible with the mental shield I seemed to have. Once I pulled into the reservation I saw Leah jogging towards me, I got out and she pulled me into a hug. I laughed and hugged back, "Hey, Leah, where's Jake?" She pulled away and wrapped her arm around my shoulder as we walked. "It's just me here right now, well and Emily, the boys went fishing, no way I was doing that." I smiled and nodded, we walked in and I could smell that Emily was cooking something. She exited the kitchen and smiled at me, "Bella, it's great to see you again." I smiled at her, "You too, Emily. Uh Leah can we talk somewhere a little private?" Leah looked at me with a confused look but nodded nonetheless.

She took me upstairs to one of the guest rooms, I sat on the bed as she sat next to me. "What's up, Bells? You haven't needed to talk to me since you came out, it must be important." I took a deep breath, "I did something really stupid, I wrote a letter and sent it out to the supernatural kings about the Cullens leaving me behind knowing I was a human who knew their secret." She was silent for a moment before standing up and looking at me. "You're fucking with me, right? There is no way you were that stupid!" I shook my head, "I did, I'm not messing around." She put her hand through her hair, "The whole pack is gonna know if I shift, you realize that right? You're lucky they don't know now! Oh my god, you're dead! You literally just dug your grave!" I rubbed the back of my neck, "I doubt it's gonna be that bad, Leah." She glared at me, we both knew it was going to be that bad.

"I'll be safe, Leah, I just couldn't let the Cullens get away with it! I would have told them about it if it was anyone else, not just because it was me, they broke their laws." She paced a little, "Ok, you tell no one else and I will do my best to keep it to myself for the time being. Let's get some food before I go into shock." We walked downstairs, but she was still tense. Once we got down the rest of the pack came in, smelling heavily of fish. With them walking in it seemed to tense Leah even more, if that was possible. I gently put my hand on her back and whispered, "You look like you have something up your ass, relax." She relaxed slightly and we sat down, Emily gave us food and we all started eating, Leah picking at it. Once we were all done, Leah was the first to get up, I sighed softly. Once I got up I felt Emily gently put her hand on my arm, pulling me away from everyone else. "Hey, what happened after that talk with Leah? I haven't seen her act like this since the thing with Sam and I." I shook my head with a shrug, "It was nothing, I don't know what's wrong." I pulled away from her and walked out, hugging Jake goodbye and looking at Leah.
