TRIGGER WARNING:
SEXUAL ASSAULT MENTIONED AND ATTEMPTED IN THIS CHAPTERSami watched as the sun set. It was peaceful. Relaxing.
He had a lot to do today. He had a lot to do yesterday. And a lot to do tomorrow.
But none of that mattered, now. He sat on the park bench table, his feet resting on the bench connected to it. Between them, his girlfriend Rosita sat, arms resting on Sami's legs, as she leaned back against him, head on his middle.
"I love your hair." She looked up at him, though with her head against him she'd be looking at him upside down. "I don't tell you that enough."
He glanced at her and chuckled, his hands having been braiding her own hair for the past twenty minutes.
They hadn't been dating very long. Only a week or so. That time had mostly just been spend being around each other, holding onto each other's arms and such. Sami, Rosita has discovered, was probably one of the most cuddly people on the planet. He could hardly walk past her without hugging her as he past.
She sat up suddenly, before kneeling on the bench and turning to face him so they were level. " You know what we haven't done yet?"
He thought for a moment. There was a lot they hadn't done. Which reminded him he needed to get started in the veggie patches.
"Nope. Stay here. I see your mind wandering off." She took his hands from her shoulders to her waist. "Horrible to blank your girlfriend and act like she's not here."
"Sorry. Just a lot on my mind."
"So, ignore it. Close your eyes."
He shook his head. "I don't want to."
"I don't care." She put her hands on the side of his face, thumbs on his eyes. He went to speak, but she interrupted him. "No, be quiet.'
The kiss was quick. Though it felt anything but to Sami. He'd been with Rosita before, but never done anything so intimate as kissing her lips. It felt too personal, too precious to be wasted on someone like him.
But after the small taste he kissed her again, much deeper, making her chuckle against his lips as her hands made their way away from his face and her fingers were buried in his hair, his tightening around her waist.
Everything felt new, uncharted, but he also felt completely at home. As if being tangled in her arms and consumed by her was what he was made for.
Maybe this was was be was made for. As his mouth made a trail to below her ear and down her neck, a soft sigh left her, and he felt as if ever hardship in his life made sense.
This is what it had all been for. Everything. From his mother leaving him to the world ending, all of it was so he could be here, right now, and hear another sigh from her.
But she laughed instead, which seemed just as good, and pulled away, laughing as she pushed Sami's face away as he tried to kiss the side of her face again.
"You're something, Sami Garrido."
He looked at her for a moment, before lifting his hand to push her hair from her face.
"You're going to destroy me." He muttered, a small grin still on his face.
"That's the plan." She kept her hand on the side of his face, massaging around his ear. "I'm going to ruin your life."
His eyes closed a little, as he leaned into her hand. "You're off to a great start."
"Thank you." She chuckled, and kissed the top of his nose. "I'm great at everything I do."
