I yawned. "Rose, you should go to bed," said my dad. I nodded. My dad wrapped his arms around my shoulders and led me up the stairs. I was in my PJs already. My light brown hair and green eyes looked like my dad's, so you could tell we were family when we walked up the stairs. My dad led me into the bathroom. I grabbed my toothbrush and put it under some running water. I squeezed the toothpaste tube and put some toothpaste on my toothbrush. I brushed my teeth, rinsed, and it was time to wash my face.

Soon, I was walking into my room. I collapsed on my bed. I laid my head on my pillow and pulled the covers up. As I closed my eyes, I noticed something dark in the corner of my room. I squinted to see what it was. It jumped out at me and covered my mouth. I saw the person take out a spray and they sprayed it in my face, and I fell asleep.

I opened my eyes, only to see I was in a cage. I was in a blue dress and two blue bracelets held my wrists together. The person who kidnapped me walked up. He had black hair, glowing green eyes, and was skinny and tall. Then, I saw his hands. Bony and long. Creepy. "Hello, Rose, I'm Serpent, the sea serpent," the boy said. I raised my eyebrow.

"Are you messing with me?" I asked. He laughed evilly, sending chills down my spine. I gulped.

"Rose, I'm not messing with you," he answered. He turned his back towards me, glanced over his shoulder, and walked towards the door. He left me just sitting in the cage.

"Rose, over here!" called a voice. I turned around and saw a boy with brown hair and grayish eyes. "I'm Daniel, Serpent's twin before he turned himself into a sea serpent," said the boy.

"Are you a monster too?" I asked. He shook his head no. I sighed. "Why did you kidnap me?" I asked. Daniel looked at me, worried.

"Listen, I think you don't want to know right now," said Daniel.

"Wait, if you and your brother are here, are your parents? Do they approve of this?" I asked. Daniel looked down and shuffled his foot. "Well?" I asked.

"My parents are away. My uncle is supposed to watch us and make sure we are good, but he doesn't care what we do. I try to stop Dyla- I mean Serpent," Daniel told me. I raised my eyebrow.

"So, his name was Dylan at first?" I asked. Daniel nodded.

"Don't call him that though. He can get really mad," Daniel told me. I nodded. Daniel walked over to the door and put his ear against it. "He's coming," he said. He ran over to the other door that I didn't notice earlier. "I'll come back," he told me. He opened the door. He turned and looked at me again. "I promise," he added. He left. I just sat there. I was nervous now.
