The footsteps got closer. Daniel paused me in a corner and put a blanket over me. I heard him put things around me. I heard the door creak open. My heart pounded as Daniel screamed when a spraying noise went off. I held my breath. My head was spinning. I heard the floor boards creak as he got closer.
The blanket was torn off me. I looked right up into Serpent's glowing green eyes. He grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet. "No!" I screamed. He pulled me out of the shed. I kept kicking and flailing my arms, but it was no use. I tried to bury my heels into the ground, but Serpent was too strong.
"Why did you change your beautiful self into an ugly one?!" asked Serpent.
"You made me look ugly! I'm pretty now!" I screamed. Serpent led me right out of the forest. I knew he was heading for the sea. "Stop, Dylan!" I screamed as loud as I could. Serpent stopped and turned to me.
"I'm Serpent now. Do you understand?!" he responded.
"No!" I screamed. He pushed me to the ground and stepped on my chest, pushing me down.
"What about now?" he asked, smirking. I could barely breath. I wasn't going to let him win. No way. I shook my head no. Serpent stopped stepping on me and pulled me to my feet again. I purposely stepped on his foot. He grabbed both my wrists and the bracelets attached again. Serpent pushed me over and starting dragging me by my hands. Serpent dragged me all the way down the road to the water. A small row boat was on the shore. Serpent walked over to it. He put me on it and tied me onto it. I tried to kick him, but it didn't work.
Serpent started pushing the boat toward the water. "What are you doing?!" I screamed at him.
"You'll see," he responded. He finally reached the water. He gave it a hard push. It started floating away. Serpent ran towards the cliff you could jump off of. He reached it. I tried to get out of the ropes, but it was no use. My heart was pounding. What was Serpent going to do?
I saw him dive in, clothes and all. The splash was big, but I saw something that scared me. A giant sea serpent. I looked over the side of the boat. Serpent. He took his head and neck out of the water and roared. It scared me. He could eat the boat and me easily in one bite. His green scales sparkled a bit in the sunlight, but dark clouds suddenly filled the sky. "This is what you are, Rose," he said.
"No I'm not!" I yelled.
"Silence!" he yelled back.
"No!" I yelled back. He put his head near me. I could smell his stinky breath. He cut the ropes with his teeth. He took his head away. He roared and dove back down into the water, tipping me out of the boat.
