"Wardens"

'Wardens are 7-foot giants that emerge from the skulk.'

'Their entire body is composed of skull and bones that appear to provide the structure of the Warden's bipedal form.'

'They are blind, so they sense their surroundings using sounds or smell. The antenna structure on their heads functions similarly to a skulk sensor, and they will sniff the air to detect any scent they deem threatful. Range of sound detection can range from 5 to 15 meters, and the range for their smelling capability is inconsistent to be written down.'

'If a Warden has identified and deems you a threat, they will relentlessly give chase until they lose track, or kill you.'

'Despite being made of skulk, these Wardens are capable of dealing high bludgeoning damage. Damage ranges from broken ribs, shattered bones, and high concussion, to death. Theories are that they're capable of compressing their skulk before striking down.'

'If a certain distance is achieved away from the Warden, or are on a raised platform or ledge the Warden is incapable of reaching, it will perform a sonic blast from its chest capable of penetrating and destroying stone structures/walls.'

'Do not engage any Wardens in combat as it is futile. Advice is to make as little sound as possible. If a Warden emerges, attain a certain distance away to prevent it from smelling you with as little noise as possible until it despawns.'

'If chased, run away until it completely stops chasing you, or hide and cut noise completely.'

'The Wardens body structure is often deformed and unbalanced, making it slower in chasing and its swings predictable.'

'If running is not an option, attempt to damage the heart at the center of its open chest cavity. This will temporarily immobilize but not destroy the Warden. Use this time to gain distance between the Warden.'

'Amputating or cutting its antenna will cause distress to the Wardens, causing it to attack randomly and recklessly. This method is only as a last resort and never around the structures due to the unpredictable attacks and destruction to nearby structures.'

'They are a risk to be around due to their dangerous capabilities. Returning to the surface is not an option till temperatures stabilize and the black lich stops its pursuit. Until then, our survival is in the hands of the astronomers' second portal attempt.'

End of page.

==========================================

Izuku sighs as he shuts the book.

'Nothing about what I am looking for' Izuku thinks to himself, slightly gloomy.

He was sitting in a cave that was filled with glow berries blooming from vines hanging off the rocky ceiling. Using the combined glow from the berries and referring to a page from a different book where he had translated 'some' of the unknown symbols to kanji, Izuku could somewhat read the cryptic writing of the book.

'I think this page was describing more details regarding those monsters, or 'Wardens' as they call it.' Izuku thinks, 'Useful in case I ever face down the line, but not what I am searching for.'
