A/N: Hello :D! This is my first time publishing a fic so I'm a bit nervous but I love Mialotte so it's worth it. I do hope you all enjoy - any and all feedback is really appreciated

Prompt: Mia and Charlotte have their first argument - and it gets quite heated

2950 words

Charlotte climbed into the passenger seat of Mia's car and sighed.

"What's up with you?" Mia chuckled, prodding Charlotte in the side and then placing her arm around her shoulder.

"Nothing, just a bad day." Charlotte shrugged Mia's arm off and huffed, triggering an eyebrow raise from Mia.

"Hey, no need to be so arsey." Mia chuckled again, using the arm Charlotte had just brushed off to start the engine. She was trying to poke fun of the situation but Charlotte shot her daggers. God, if looks could kill. She still looked hot though.

"Okay, okay, sorry. I'll shut up." Mia huffed, driving out of the car park. What was up with her today?

They drove to Mia's in complete silence; Charlotte staring out of the windscreen, avoiding Mia's attempt to make eye contact.

As they pulled into Mia's driveway, Charlotte sighed once more before unbuckling her seatbelt, picking up her handbag and striding off into the house in silence.

"What the fuck..." Mia muttered under her breath before following after her.

Charlotte was stood at the door, staring into space.

"Char, please, tell me what's wrong. There's clearly something bothering you." Mia said, desperately trying to grasp the brunette's attention.

"Nothing's wrong, Mia, leave me the fuck alone!" Charlotte shouted.

This was insanely out of character for Charlotte. Not only did she never shout, she also never, ever swore.

"Okay, fine, fuck you then!" Mia shouted back, unlocking the door and storming in.

Charlotte followed behind and threw herself on the sofa - taking her phone out of her bag and scrolling mindlessly on social media.

Mia strode into the kitchen, not even batting an eyelid at Charlotte. A hot tear streamed down her face as she sat at the kitchen island, but she quickly brushed it away. Until another one followed after it, then a stifled sob.

Charlotte's ears pricked up at the sound of Mia's sobs. Her stomach lurched at the thought of making her girlfriend cry, but she was too angry to care.

Yet again, another parent had made a comment about her marriage separation and the fact that she was dating a woman now and she had genuinely begun to question whether it was worth being with Mia. Was she really worth all this aggro?

Mia sat at the kitchen island, with her head in her hands - desperately trying to cover up her sobs. Tears dripped down onto the table, but she had stopped caring. Part of her wanted Charlotte to hear her crying, to make her feel bad, to beg her to tell her what was wrong. But there was something stopping her - and she couldn't work out what it was.

The two women stayed separate for a long while - Charlotte nibbled at her nails anxiously, listening to Mia's sobbing. Eventually, it subsided and she heard Mia stand up and run the tap - probably getting herself a glass of water.

Charlotte stood up, her legs shaking and slowly walked into the kitchen. Mia was stood at the tap, drinking a glass of water and staring out of the window into the garden.

"M... Mia," Charlotte whispered, hovering in the doorway.

"Go away, Charlotte." Mia snapped, avoiding looking in her direction.
