A/N: So sorry for lack of chapters I've had such writers block. I hope you enjoy and I may write a pt.2 where they put the furniture together.

Prompt: Cute little Mialotte Ikea trip

2569 words

Today was the day. Mia and Charlotte had finally picked up the keys to their new house together and were beginning to think of how to furnish it.

The two women were sprawled out on the empty living room floor, taking it all in. They were comfortable in the silence, just enjoying each other's company, but Charlotte was the first to break it.

"Everything feels really real now, doesn't it," She said, reaching over to interlock her fingers into Mia's.

Mia gave a reassuring squeeze of Charlotte's hand as a tear rolled down her cheek.

Charlotte noticed that there was no reply so turned her head to look towards her girlfriend just in time to catch the tear.

"Oh my darling girl," Charlotte whispered, shuffling over to pull Mia into a cuddle, "Are you okay?"

Mia sniffled as she snuggled herself into Charlotte's chest, "I'm okay, my love, I'm okay. It's just - I never imagined my life would be like this. If you told little me she's found the love of her life and has now moved in with her, she'd probably burst into tears."

As Mia spoke, more tears streamed down her face and Charlotte used her free hand to gently wipe them away. "Come here, you," Charlotte said, pulling Mia in tighter. "Little you would be so proud of you, I hope you know that. Knowing you made it out of Roger's grasp, and that you repaired your relationship with the siblings, and that you're happier. She'd take one look at you and know everything is going to be okay."

Charlotte's words had made Mia begin to sob, and Charlotte just gently held the redhead as she cried. "Shhh, it's okay. I've got you."

Charlotte used her free hand to gently stroke the bridge of Mia's nose as her sobs subsided. Charlotte was the only person Mia had ever allowed herself to properly cry in front of. She made the redhead feel safe.

"You got it all out?" Charlotte said, gently lifting Mia's face to plant a kiss on her lips.

Mia sniffled once more as she reciprocated the kiss, "Yeah, I think so. Thank you."

"Thank you for what darling?"

"For being so patient with me."

"Oh shush you, you deserve the world. You don't need to thank me." Charlotte giggled, "Look, I know you've got your list of what we need from Ikea - why don't we go have a wander round now to distract you?"

Mia slowly wriggled herself out of Charlotte's arms and stood up before helping Charlotte to her feet. She pulled the brunette into a tight hug before saying, "You know exactly how to cheer me up don't you?"

"I know you too well, my dear." Charlotte giggled before rushing out of the door to the car. "Last to the car is paying for everything!" She shouted before the door closed behind her.

Mia chuckled to herself as she wiped the last remaining tears from her cheeks. "I was gonna pay for everything anyway," She whisper-laughed to herself before following Charlotte out of the door.

The two drove in comfortable silence, just allowing their shared playlist to soundtrack the drive. That was until Jackie and Wilson by Hozier came on.

Charlotte gasped before turning to Mia, "This is my favourite Hozier song! But - but I didn't put this on the playlist, so how - how is it on here?"

"Baby, you forget how well I know you." Mia laughed as she turned the corner to pull into the Ikea car park. "I heard you playing it over and over in the shower a few weeks ago so put it in the playlist so that whenever I'm away from you, it can remind me of you."
