Today was the day. Today was the day the two women would be joined forever.

They both agreed that the idea of not seeing each other the morning of was silly. Waking up separately on the best day of their life would have racked them with nerves.

Charlotte's eyes fluttered open and she snuggled into where she thought Mia was in the bed, only to find the spot empty.

"Mia?" She said, half asleep - desperately trying to open her eyes wider to find her love.

"I'm in the bathroom, sweetheart. Don't worry, I won't be long!"

Mia strolled out of the bathroom and flopped onto the bed, immediately pulling Charlotte into a cuddle.

"We're getting married today, Charlotte." Mia giggled, running her hands through Charlotte's hair.

"I'm so excited to make you mine forever."

"I am yours forever, whether there is a ring on my finger or not - I hope you know that."

Charlotte giggled before wrestling herself out of Mia's grasp.

"We have to get ready! Marjorie is desperate to help me into my dress, I guess she wants to take the place of my mum."

"I think Aut said something about helping me too."

Charlotte was caught off guard, "What? Are you- are you being serious?"

Mia smiled, her heart soaring, "I'm being deadly serious, Char. She messaged me a week ago asking if I was up for it. Of course I jumped at the chance - I've got a lot of making up to do for the last 20 years. I feel like I'm finally getting my little sister back."

Charlotte began to well up, "Shush you, I'm gonna be crying enough at the ceremony - I don't want to cry now."

Mia smiled and let out a chuckle. "I think today might be the first time a lot of these people have seen me cry."

"No, we can't be having that - they'll realise you've got a soft side." Charlotte laughed, climbing out of bed.

"Well, shit - I guess we can't get married then."

"Shut up!" Charlotte laughed, even harder this time - her face flushing red "Get up so I can kiss you before I leave you for a few hours," Charlotte said, grabbing hold of Mia's hands to pull her up to her feet.

She threw her arms around her shoulders, pulling her in to plant a kiss on her lips. Mia tangled her hands in Charlotte's hair to deepen the kiss, but Charlotte pulled away.

"Ah, ah, ah - that can wait until after. I'm gonna miss you, beautiful." Charlotte said, winking as she walked out of the room.

Her heart pounded as she walked down the corridor to Marjorie's room, planting two firm knocks on the door.

It swung open and Marjorie was on the other side of it, grinning.

"Hello my love!" Marjorie instantly threw Charlotte into a hug, which she reciprocated. "I am so, so excited for today you don't even understand!"

"I know, Marjorie, I know. Me too!"

"Me and Carly have already had our makeup and hair done, Sorscha's just making sure Clodagh and Quinn are okay before she comes down and Autumn and Mia are doing their own. So, while we wait for Sorscha, why don't you take a seat?"
