Charlie opened the door to reveal a short blond man — none other than the grand King of Hell himself.

"Talk about a short king," Angel snickered.

You nodded in agreement.

"I'd like to talk to (Y/N) now. In uh, private," Lucifer said, nervously gripping his cane.

Everyone else in the room grumbled in annoyance.

"Now, please," he said.

Your friends scoffed and pouted before reluctantly leaving your bedside.

"Thank you..." Lucifer muttered.

Angel closed the door behind them, turning around to shoot you a supportive wink before leaving.

You turned to the King. "Lovely to see you as always, your majesty. To what do I owe this pleasure?"

Lucifer broke out into a smile. "Oh, drop the formalities, (Y/N)!" he said, greeting you like an old friend.

You were slightly confused.

Lucifer, seeing this, smiled wider. He hugged you.

"U-uh...sir?" you said awkwardly.

"Hm?" he hummed, muffled in your shoulder.

"What are you doing?" you whispered.

Lucifer released you. "My apologies, but thank you! Thank you thank you thank you!!" he praised, squeezing your hands.

You tilted your head. "'Thank you' for what, sir?"

"You saved my Charlie..." he said tearfully.

You smiled and shook your head. "It was no problem, sir. I appreciate your kindness, but there's no need to thank me."

"Oh, classic (Y/N)," he chuckled. "Always so humble."

"Really, sir. I was just protecting her."

"My dear..." Lucifer sat on your bedside. "There's nothing I can do fully express how grateful I am to you."

"Perhaps dropping this, would be payment enough, your majesty?" you suggested, now starting to get flustered from all his praise.

The old king sighed. "I've been a terrible father," he admitted. "I haven't been there for my little girl. I haven't seen her grow up, I haven't seen enough of this dream she's established. The friends she's made. And to think...that I was so close to losing her — letting her die a life without me, her own father. It's just..." he trailed off, wiping a tear from his eye.

"Sir..." you said, patting his hand and offering a small smile.

Lucifer shook his head, brushing off his sadness. "Anyways, I'd like to change my relationship with Charlie. And it's all possible now, thanks to you," he smiled. "So, I'd like to officially invite you to be Hell's newest Overlord!" he announced, making a grand gesture.

Your eyes widened. "Me? An Overlord??" you stared, open-mouthed at the king.

He grinned at your dumbfounded expression. "Only if you want to be, of course..."

You laughed, breaking into a smile. "Are you fucking serious?! Yes!"

Lucifer laughed with you. "I'll let it be known all throughout Hell!" he told you. "(Y/N) (L/N) will be Hell's new and powerful Overlord!" He lifted you up from the bed, spinning you around. "You're going to make a fine ruler, my dear!"

"I can't believe it..." you said breathlessly. "Overlord (Y/N) (L/N)," you said, to get a feel of the name. "I like the sound of that."

Two days later...

The VEE Tower

"WHAT THE FUCK?!" an infuriated Valentino screeched, spitting out his coffee as he read through the paper. "VELVETTE!"

"Whaaat?" she groaned, looking up from her phone.

"Did you fucking see this??" he scurried over to his friend, waving the article in her face.

She read through it silently, setting her phone down and taking the paper from him. "What??" she gaped. "VOX!"

"What do you want?" Vox's voice called from upstairs.

"Get your ass down here, now!" she demanded.

Vox came down the stairs in his pajamas. "What? What's the problem?"

She waved the newspaper in the air. "Did you fucking see this?!"

Valentino stood next to her, his arms folded as he pouted like a five-year-old.

Vox calmly took the paper from Velvette, reading over it. His eyebrows raised, letting out a low hum. "Who the fuck is (Y/N)?"

Velvette pointed to a blurry picture of a girl with (H/L) (H/C) hair, and (E/C) eyes. Her face was hard to make out. "She's the girl we saw on the monitor!" she said, pointing to the television.

Vox looked up at her. "They haven't recruited a new Overlord in centuries," he said, setting the paper down and fixing himself some coffee. "Why now?" he asked.

"Apparently she saved Lucifer's brat, and he's 'eternally grateful'! Some cheesy shit like that," Valentino scoffed.

"Why does this concern us?" Vox asked dryly.

Velvette and Valentino looked at each other, at a loss for words.

Vox chuckled, sipping his coffee. "Exactly. I would worry too much. It's not like we have to talk to her."

Velvette nodded in agreement. "Yeah, right...right."

"See? All we have to do, is go to that stupid Overlord initiation party and meet the newbie. We'll be in and out."

Vox's friends calmed down at his words.

"Okay, okay..." Velvette said, considering this. "Right. Exactly. In and out."

Vox smirked. "Besides, if she were to get in our way. We have the rest of Hell on our side. They...trust us," Vox said, his hypnotic eye making a low buzz as he spoke.

Valentino and Velvette nodded. "Riiight. Trust us..."

Vox's cold chuckle echoed in the depths of his coffee cup.
