[Platonic] Blueband x Reader

Blueband sat at a bench in his little town, he seemed a little bored.

"I'm so glad that time loop stuff is over. I don't have to keep greeting that Star Saviour anymore..."

He sighs, looking around his simple little town. People wandering around and doing their own things. He notices a familiar person heading over to him, making him smile a little.

"Y/N! Hello there!"

"Hi! Are you doing anything right now?" Y/N heads over to the bench, sitting next to Blueband.

"Not really. There's nothing much to do for this town right now, it's boring without anything to do."

"Well, it's better than the-"

"Narrative, I know."

"But honestly, it's getting quite mundane living like this."

"At least I'm here to make things less boring, right?"

"Just in time too, I was about to consider just building another archway."

"Why is it always an archway?"

Blueband shrugs. "Why not? An archway has many uses! Portals, decoration-"

"I'm pretty sure there's a thing called too much archways, Blue."

"Well, you're not the one who can really stop me from building too many archways, eh?"

Y/N shrugs. "I guess you're not wrong. You'd still do it anyway despite what I've said.

"Yeah..."

"Well, anyway. I was wondering if you want to go to the park with me, just to take a nice walk and such. Nothing much really."

"Oh, uh, I'd love to! Better than sitting on a bench all day."

"I mean, it's not so bad."

"It is, if nothing is really happening at all."

"Fair, well... Let's go to the park now, shall we?"

Blueband nods, getting up from the bench to follow Y/N. They walk through the park in silence, laughter is heard as they get close to a playground.

"Oh look! There are kids playing on the playground."

"Huh, aren't they such a lively bunch?"

"Hm... Hey, Blueband?"

"Yes?" He questions, tilting his head.

"What was your childhood like?"

"Oh... Well, it was alright." Blueband looks away a bit.

"That doesn't sound like it was alright."

"Well..."

Blueband heads over to the nearest bench, Y/N follows him and sits with him. They look over to him with curiosity, listening to what he had to say.

"It wasn't really nice, I didn't really have the luxury of living that I have today. It was more simple, my family wasn't really that wealthy and life was quite rough sometimes."

"Oh... What were your parents like?"

"My father, he doesn't really care about me to be honest. Busy with work and does absolutely nothing when he's home, he doesn't really acknowledge me... But my mother, oh, she's very loving. She did everything she could to give me a decent life, honestly all she wanted was for our family to be together and that Dad would actually spend time with us, especially to me."

"Why is he like that towards you?"

"I don't know... I'll never know why, but at least my mom loved me dearly and that was all I needed. Then I wanted to change the situation of my life and get myself to where I am today."

"... I heard that trap town used to be not as good as it is today, right?"

"Yeah. It was honestly his help that made this town better than it was. In exchange for having it used for his time loop thing, you know, the narrative."

"How did that feel? Being constantly in a loop of a specific day just to do the same thing?"

"It was alright at first, I mean, I got the funds and abilities to make the town better. To see this place go from some poor little town to one that looks more lively and that more people would want to live in it. But then it got boring, too repetitive. I felt pity for the Saviour you know? I'm surprised they hadn't gone mad with all those loops, just fighting against... That."

"Fascinating... But where are they now? I heard they went missing and Maytown has a new Mayor."

"Oh, that's what I don't know. I hadn't seen Claud in a long time, he's busy with his own things. I shouldn't intervene with it now."

"Right, okay. I see, so why are you even openly telling me all of this?"

"Because I trust you with it, you seem to believe it..."

"If I can believe Stratosfear exists, then I'll probably believe this weird thing. Also, it's almost instantaneous that you were able to make the town a lot better, so I could believe your story."

"That's something..."

"Well, since you worked with him... What was Claud like?"

"Oh, he's an idiot. But he's funny, he's caring for me... Sometimes he comes to talk to me in town when the time loop is still ongoing. He talks about the silliest things, but he's so fixated in his ambition to make a story... Now I don't really see him."

"Did you like him?"

"What? No! I don't know where you got that idea, but I don't have the slightest interest in him!"

"You talk about him like he was the greatest thing in your life, or an ex partner."

"Oh stars no- he was just someone I worked with for the betterment of the town. A friend perhaps, but nothing more."

"Is he still a friend?"

"I don't think so..." There was a hint of sadness in his tone, a bit bitter in a sense.

Blueband lowered his head a little and sighed, rubbing the back of their head. Y/N wraps their arm on him in an embrace.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm here for you if he isn't. We're friends right?"

"Right..."

"Then forget that guy, he's busy with his own things. I'm here for you if he isn't."

"Thank you Y/N, you're a good friend. I can always rely on you... But you can also rely on me from time to time, because that's what friends do."

"Of course." They lean against Blueband a bit.

He smiles softly at Y/N, his eyes full of appreciation and gratitude.

"Hey, why don't we go get some ice cream?"

"Oh, I'd love that! I don't have money though."

"Who said you're paying? Come on! I'll pay for yours. What flavor do you want?"

"I'll just get what you want-"

"Great, bubblegum ice cream it is!"

He grabs Y/N by the hand, eagerly walking over to an ice cream stand. They watch as Blueband buys them their ice creams, looking genuinely happy as he cherishes the moment he has with his friend.

'I hope to see more of this.' Y/N thinks as they take their ice cream from Blueband, spending their day at the park before parting ways for the day.
