Chapter 1 - In The Beningging

In the wilderness stood a huge creature made out of stone. It had a humanoid appearance with a sturdy and stiff body as if it was sculpted poorly.

The surrounding land was plain, adorned with plenty of grass and trees.

Amidst the grasslands stood a young man wearing a black attire with the same shade as his hair. His twin rattails flutter in the air as he took a deep breath and readied his sword

"Stonewall Bracer, an Elite-class TD. Could use it as an Echo." He muttered then kicked off the ground and swung his sword horizontally through the creature's body.

The rock-hard creature that's made of stone, was easily cut in half. It slowly dissipated as its upper body fell to the ground. It turned to ashes before it could, however.

The young man turned around and wore a disappointed face. His eyes were narrowed and his lips were curved downwards.

"No echo? Damnit." He sighed.

Reverberation
Tacet Discord's often leave behind reverberations that could be turned into Echoes, providing good advantages in battlefield, or dancing?

"So you didn't get any echoes today? That's unfortunate." A young woman said, following up with a giggle.

Across the desk filled with stacked papers was a black haired young man. He let out an exhausted sigh and leaned against the chair.

"I hunted dozens of them but didn't get any. You should hunt with me next time, Jinhsi. You're so lucky with echoes somehow."

After a quick pause, the young man stared at Jinhsi and found himself amazed by her beauty.

She has silver hair with looped pigtails and her straight bangs exposed her forehead. Her hair has the same shade as her charming eyes. Her right cheek had a small mole that enhanced her beauty and her smile was divine that it dazzled the young man. He couldn't look away.

Her outfit hugged her curved. She is clad in an elegant clothing, exposing her back with a strange mark tracing her collarbone. Her overall appearance depicted an elegant and delicate person.

Suddenly, Jinhsi clapped her hands once and stared back at the young man.

"Oh, I almost forgot! Rover, I have another task for you."

"Task?" Rover said, tilting his head.

Jinhsi picked up a newspaper on the desk and lent it to him, which Rover took hesitantly.

"Inside is its contents. Apparently, an Overlord class Tacet Discord was seen wreaking havoc in the woods." Jinhsi explained clearly. "There's also a group of Tacet Discord camping in a nearby Tacet Field but I already got it covered."

"That's good news."

Rover looked down at the newspaper in his hands and on the very first page was a picture of a large creature found flying in the sky.

"'Mourning Aix found in Central Plains.' That's close to Jinzhou, what is it doing there?" Rover asked as he looked up from the newspaper.

Jinhsi replied with a bitter smile and scratched her cheek. Judging by her actions, it seemed that even the Magistrate herself doesn't know.

Rover was left with barely any information aside from the Tacet Discord and its location. Furthermore, the creature was extremely close to the city.

Itt needed to be done as soon as possible.

"Then, I'll take my leave." Rover said after thinking for a while.
