Chapter 17: Clever Girl

Also, it is not mentioned, but Hap went with Brooklynn and Sammy in this episode.

~Y/n's Point of View~

As of now, we are at the dock, Brooklynn and Darius applying the sealant to the boat's hole. Ben and I were holding hands and seeing the scene unfold right in front of us. 

But my thoughts couldn't help but wonder off. How am I supposed to tell the others about me wanting to stay with Ben? Darius will be calling us insane for wanting to actually wanting to stay here. Brooklynn and Yasmina...would only scold me and remind me of my home. Sammy may be more understanding, seeing where Ben is, I am happy. Kenji and Hap are more difficult to predict however. 

"They have to say that for insurance and junk. As your captain, I pronounce this vessel seaworth..." Kenji said, hitting the plate and falling off. Everyone gave him a murderous glare. "Um, I've got some captainy stuff to do over there....with Y/n!" He said, looking at me and pointing. 

Ben wrapped an arm around me, "Oh Ok Obi." I say, turning to Ben and giving him a reassuring smile. He let me go, not before giving him threatening eyes.

'What is up with Ben and Kenji lately?'  I ask myself. I follow Kenji and walk with him.

Kenji and I walk in silence, he wouldn't exactly start the conversation. Which is odd, because I had dubbed him, a certified yapper. 

So I decided to sing something, "F is for the friends who do stuff together." I sang softly.

"U is for you and me" Kenji looked at me and smiled softly.

"N is for anywhere and anytime at all!" I sang louder.

"Down here in the deep blue sea!" We both sang in sync.

"F is for fire that burns down the whole town! U is for uranium, bombs! N is for no survivors when you-" He sang louder and in a deeper voice. 

"Plankton those thing aren't what fun is all about, now try it like this!" I said, "F is for friends who do stuff to-"

"Never, that's completely idiotic." Kenji said playfully, crossing his arms.

"Here, let me help you!" I said, grabbing his wrist. "F is for friends who do stuff together, U is for you and me! Try it!" 

"N is for anywhere and anytime at all!" He sang.

"Down here in the deep blue sea!" We both sang in sync. Both of us laughing after that line.

~Kenji's Point of View~

"You know, I'm happy I found someone like you." Y/n admitted.

Wait...Is she serious? "Um...What do you exactly, mean by that?" I ask her.

"Well, before coming here, my only real friend and companion was Ben. Someone who would let me yap about my hobbies and references. Meeting ya'll is one of the most greatest things that ever happened to me." Y/n admitted. 

My face tensed, she meant everyone, not just me I guess, "What is the greatest thing then?" 

Y/n smiled, looking at the ground, "Ben of course."

You know what, sure, of course it's Ben. A small part of me wanted her to say, Kenji. I am just happy to be spending time with her at all. I am going to be taking full advantage of her presence. 

"What made you fall for Ben?" I asked, wanting to know how he got Y/n to fall for him. 

"Well...I don't know how to answer that. He's always been there since third grade, before all of the fame and success. That he is a gentleman and treats me right. How we can always come to each other with our successes and struggles. Also he is extremely adorable and hot." She told me. Now I see.
