To leave a Legacy, is to Leave a part of Me

I was about to write a piece that has been stuck in my head
But doubts clouded my thoughts so I do nothing instead.

I was about to tell someone a story I made
But then the sudden interest began to fade

I wanted to share my views about something
But then I realized it probably meant nothing

I felt like I should have told them though
So I wouldn't have anything to regret as I go

I wanted to leave a legacy, probably a novel or a piece of poetry
So that people will know me even as I turn into a memory

Then I realized why I wanted to write,
It was never to impress someone or gain the spotlight

It was simply due to its beauty
Which made me admire it wholeheartedly

So even as my pen bleeds
Even if I fail to succeed,

I know that in the end I will have no regrets
For in each word is a piece my heart will never forget
