Chapter 17

~10 years later~
The family is thriving with Baileys music going great and Sadie finding a day job and Dakota starting school.
"Bailey I'm leavin love you!" Sadie says giving him a kiss goodbye and waving at Dakota. "Alright since your moms gone you ain't goin to school"

"What? Why?" Dakota asks. "You need a break we are having a dad and daughter day" Bailey says grabbing his keys. "Awesome!" Dakota says running to the truck. "So what are we gonna do?" Dakota asks. "Whatever you want hun" Bailey replies.

"Can I play some music?" Dakota asks. "Mmhm here's my phone" Bailey replies. "Sweet!" Dakota starts playing her dads music since he's her favorite singer obviously. "Didn't think you would play mine" Bailey says with a laugh.

"You my favorite singer dad!" Dakota says with a smile as she starts dancing to his music. "Thanks hun" Bailey says while pulling into an ice cream shop. "Ice cream? Sweet!" Dakota says excitedly hopping out of the truck.

They ordered two cookies and cream cones and sat down. Baileys phone starts ringing it's Sadie. "Oh shoot be quiet" Bailey says answering. "Yes darling?" Bailey says. "Why are you at an ice cream shop?" Sadie asks. "Umm I wanted some ice cream?" As Dakota starts giggling Bailey motioning for her to shush.

"Bailey, you did this last week take Dakota to school" Sadie says over the phone. "But baby she needed a day off" Bailey argues. "No she doesn't just take her to school" Sadie replies and hangs up the phone. "Dang it, she caught us again"

"Aww dad I don't wanna go to school" Dakota whines. "Sorry hun mom said you've gotta go" Bailey says walking out the door. They both hop in the truck and Bailey drops Dakota off. Bailey gets a call on the way home. "Hey numnut I've gotta tell you something" Baileys sister Brooke says.

"What's up?" Bailey replies. "Is Sadie there?" Brooke asks. "No she's at work" Bailey replies. Brooke adds Sadie to the call. "Hey what's goin on girl oh hey honey" Sadie says joining the call. "So I have an announcement for y'all me and Greg are having a baby!!" Brooke excitedly exclaims.

"Wow congrats sis!" Bailey says. "Oh my gosh girl Dakota is gonna have a cousin!" Sadie says smiling. "Yep y'all are the first ones we've told!" Brooke says. "Wow I must be your favorite sibling then" Bailey says with a laugh. "Yeah you probably are" Brooke says laughing

"Ok bye y'all!" Brooke ends the call. And Bailey goes home.

Later that day Bailey picks Dakota up from school and goes home. Sadie is cooking chicken Alfredo for them.
"Hey baby how was work?" Bailey says wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her neck. "It was good did you write anything today?" Sadie asks.

"Y'all are so gross ugh!" Dakota says from the couch. Sadie and Bailey laugh and continue there conversation. "What'd you write?" Sadie asks stirring the noodles. "It's called hell or high water wanna hear it?" Bailey asks.
"Of course I do!" Sadie replies.

"Alright here we go" Bailey says strumming his guitar.

"I know it ain't gonna be no easy ride, and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, but I'm runnin outta places I can hide and everyday it's like the nights get longer, when I close my eyes yeah the waves get high and the flames get hotter, so I'm askin myself cause I can't tell if this is hell or just high water"

Bailey finish's. "What'd y'all think?" Bailey asks. "It's great daddy but I think I can make it better" Dakota says. "Sadie?" Bailey asks. "It was amazing baby I love the lyrics" Sadie says. "Thank ya Dakota how are you gonna make it better" Bailey asks.

"Well I'm gonna write lyrics for the next verse" Dakota says. "Ohhhh when will it ever be over?" Sadie mumbles from the kitchen. Bailey quickly grabs his notebook and writes it down. "That's good babe y'all keep goin" Bailey says.
