The Date

*Shawn's P.O.V*

It was the morning after I asked Riley out. I was so nervous, what if she doesn't like me?

I got up and began to get ready. It was already around noon or 2:00, I wanted to give her time to get ready and relax. I had everything planned out so that she would have to like me. I planned a whole day of stuff so we could keep busy. I would love for her to be my girlfriend. Riley is breathtaking, and her personality is even better.

I got ready and looked in the mirror. Okay. Let's do this Shawn.

*Riley's P.O.V*

Today is the big date. Shawn hasn't told me the plans or how to dress. So I took a shower and decided to wear a dress that isn't too fancy, but isn't too casual. I put on some sandals and curled my hair. I hope I don't look too dressy.

As I finished getting ready, I heard a knock at the door. I went to the door and opened it.

"Hey Riley." Shawn smiled and handed me a rose.

I sniffed the rose "Hello Shawn. Thanks for the rose."

He nodded and told me to follow him. I followed him out of my room and the lobby to a limo. He opened the door and gestured for me to get in. I sat down and he followed. It seemed like the driver knew where he was going because he started driving.

We soon arrived at a restaurant. It looked so fancy, and as soon as I walked in, I felt super underdressed. The waiter smiled like he knew Shawn.

"Ah, Mr. Mendes. Come this way." He smiled to the both of us. We followed him to a nicely lighted booth. Shawn sat down and I sat across from him.

"Shawn, this is beautiful!" He nodded and laughed. It had to be expensive!

"You look gorgeous tonight." Shawn looked at me in the eyes. His eyes glistened under the lights, and I felt my cheeks burn up.

"Thank you. You look amazing too." He blushed back. The waiter came by and took our orders. Shawn and I just sat there looking at each other, I couldn't have asked for a better person to spend the night with.

"So do you like it?" He made a big motion towards the restaurant.

"Yeah! Was it expensive?"

"That's for me to worry about." He winked.

"Shawn-" I was cut off by the waiter coming to serve us. We began eating. I was so hungry because I didn't have time to eat before we left. I ate fast and when I looked up Shawn was laughing.

"Hungry?" I blushed and nodded. I continued eating until the both of us were done. He laid down money and told me to follow him again. We repeated the limo routine and the driver automatically started driving.

We soon arrived at the beach. There was a little bit of candles surrounding a blanket. He grabbed my hand and we got out. It looked so beautiful. As we got closer, I saw his guitar.

"Here-" he patted the blanket "Sit here."

I sat down and he grabbed his guitar. He still stood. I could tell he was nervous, even though he's performed before. He began singing 'Fall' by Justin Bieber. He sounded so perfect and he never left eye contact while he sang. I felt tears well up in my eyes. This is so sweet and when I listen to the lyrics, I fall even more for him. Nobody- I repeat nobody- has ever done this for me.

I felt the tears go onto my face as he finished the last line. He smiled at me as I jumped up to hug him.

"Shawn-" I wiped a tear off as I looked at him. "You're so sweet and-" he cut me off by kissing me. His lips were so soft and enjoyable. I could kiss him forever.

"Riley, you mean the world to me. I honestly would give up anything to be with you. And if you would, would you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes." I smiled and I could see the happiness in his eyes. We leaned in for another kiss and it felt like the world stopped. I couldn't believe I was happy. Just a few days ago, I wanted to die from embarrassment, but now I'm happy.

It was a little dark out, so we decided to walk back instead of take a cab. We would be traveling tomorrow so we didn't need much sleep.

The whole way we talked. He was my best friend, and now I can say he is my boyfriend. We also held hands (which felt amazing.) His hands fit perfectly with mine.

We got to the hotel. He walked me to my room and hugged me.

"See you in the morning." I repeated it and walked into my room. Mahogany sat up and looked at me. She jumped up and squealed.

"Tell me all about it!!"

I told her about our date and she hugged me.

"That's so sweet! I'm happy for you and Mendes." I blushed and got into my pajamas. I was tired but too excited to sleep. I laid in bed and soon drifted off. Today was the best day ever.
