"Woof!! We're finally going out...!"Batman mind linked... I'm still not used to having an Erebus connected to my thoughts and all... but it does have its uses..
Oh, right. Today is the Festival of Wishes. It's a celebration based off a fairytale, as for whether it's true or not, it's up to your imagination.
During this festival, we recount the events in the fairytale, where the princess had her wish fulfilled, but lost her love. In order let the princess be at peace, the people of the kingdom commemorate this occasion, hoping that no such tragic event would occur again.
The highlights of the festival, of course, would be the 'Wishing Lanterns'. Apparently your wish would come true if it reaches the princess up above.
Which is why Elise, Batman and I are currently strolling around the festival place. The decorations are being set up by some of the royal knights. I hear that this festival, the crown prince will be attending personally.
"N/N, let's go look over there!!"
Elise drags me by my arm. Over the years, it's already become a habit of hers, and who am I to refuse her? I mean, could you really reject a pretty face like that?
We continue strolling around the market place, and we come across a stall selling some festive costumes. We decided to get matching outfits, and when I saw we, I mean Batman, Elise and I. They surprisingly have a selection for dogs... even if Batman isn't a normal dog.
Elise got a little crown on her head, as the princess. I got the hood representing the commoner. As for Batman... he got three head bands since one wasn't enough for him.
"Y/N!! Over here!!"
I look over to see a figure waving enthusiastically.. is that the Alisa? She's here for the festival too?
I see Elise frown. Still enemies huh.
We walk over to the smiling heroine. Oh, isn't this her first time meeting Batman? Will she-
She gasps. "Is that a dog?! With three heads?!"
Immediately, Batman starts wagging his(?) tail. Oh, it seems she's good with animals. Contrast to the villainess when Batman was a little wary...
"Tsk. I could do that too..."
Aw, it's alright Elise. I'm sure Batman likes you.
"Say, Elise. Are you here for the festival too?"
"Ah, I'm actually helping out some of the stalls here. I'll be there for the lantern flying though."
"I see. In that case, we won't bother you... Come on, Batman."
I try to pry my Cerberus off the heroine... it's hopeless, he's glued to her. It seems the heroine's charm is too great after all...
"Y/N, it'll be fine. You can leave this little guy with me." She smiles. "You can enjoy your date with Lady Alphonse."
Date? Is it? I see Elise flush red beside me. They're keeping something from me... I wonder what it is.
Elise and I continue shopping, even though she was a little red the whole time. Soon, it's already evening and time to set the lanterns.
We meet up with the heroine and Batman before heading to the venue.
"Say, Elise. What do you wish for?"
"Hm? I'm not sure... What about you, N/N?"
"Still thinking..."
I see the heroine has already finished writing her wish down. I quickly get a brush and start writing my own wish down.
'I wish to save the villainess and return home!'
It's time to fly our lanterns. We light a candle, and set the lantern in the air. Thousands of people had gathered to witness the scene. The evening sky was filled with bright orange and yellow lanterns, illuminating it, leaving it with an orange hue.
I glance back at the villainess. She's clasping her hands tightly together, shutting her eyelids. She must really want this wish to come true huh...

I set down my brush after writing down my wish. I see N/N ready with her lantern. I look back at the words written on my own.
'I wish for Y/N L/N's wish to come true.'
I'm quite satisfied with it, I must say. This girl is always by my side, she never really cares for herself. I know everything she's doing is to accomplish something, so I'll wish for her as well.
Keeping so many secrets, my love. One day, I hope you'll reveal everything to me.

Today's meeting with Y/N wasn't a coincidence. I'd planned this for many days, even getting someone to sneak that book into the library so that she'd 'chance upon' it.
Seriously though, I'm surprised to see Elise with her... I thought I'd be able to have a little 'date' with her too... Perhaps Elise has fallen for her after all. This time, I'll let her have Y/N. But I'm not giving up anytime soon.
I write down my wish on the lantern. If it can come true, nothing will matter to me anymore. No, even if the princess doesn't make it come true, I will.
'I wish for Y/N to stay by my side forever.'
I'll be a little more selfish just this once. It won't hurt, right?
_____________________________________This time, I make an exception to attend the festival, since I hear a certain user is attending it as well. Safe to say, I'm not disappointed. Even if they didn't notice me at all, I did get to make a few interesting discoveries...
How intriguing. I've finally found your weakness, Miss Heroine.
"Your highness, here is your lantern."
I stare at the lantern my guard had gotten for me. A wish. I'm familiar with the fairytale. If it comes true, I'll certainly be grateful. I smirk.
'I wish for eventful things to happen, year after year. I wish to be entertained.'
I don't need a princess for it to be fulfilled. Y/N L/N, you'll fulfil it for me, won't you?
