"I'm rejecting your offer."

I folded my arms.
Being able to boss people around is nice and all, but being council president comes with its own hassles.
"However, I do wish to propose something."
"Oh? What would that be?"
"I'd like for the school to hold an election instead."
He furrows his brows.
"So far, council presidents have only been chosen by merits. Leaving it to the school population to decide... isn't it nothing more than a popularity contest?"
"Exactly. The student council president should have most of the student body's votes. They would have the most influence after all."
"I see, but isn't that just an excuse to leave the work to someone else?"
"What? No way..."
He eyed me suspiciously before nodding.
"Very well. I will make the announcement."
"Great. Now, I'm just gonna take my leave now..."

Miss L/N sure is an odd one.
To have both Lady Alphonse, Lady Blair and Miss Alisa wishing to make her council president, even going so far as to threaten me personally...
I sigh. So she rejected the position after all. I wonder what I'm going to tell them..
"Council President."
"Ah... Lady Alphonse... and Miss Alisa ... and... Lady Blair..."
Were they listening in the whole time...? Impossible, they wouldn't hear the whole conversation from there...
"So, did she agree?"
I shake my head.
"She wishes to hold an election instead..."
"So you've failed?"
"Uhm... she did say something quite interesting though...! Whoever takes the council president role by winning the election can ask any favour of her."
"She said that?"
"Yes...! She thought it was a good way to motivate others..."
I'm sorry, Miss L/N... a noble such as myself can't be on the same level as high ranking nobles like them...
"Hmm... I see. In that case..."
Elise glances at the other two.
"I'm heading off first."
"Me too."
"..."
"Are you not heading off yet?"
"Just a moment. I'd like to do something."

I sure wonder how the election will go.
Back in my own school, most student council presidents were selected this way. Surely there won't be any problems.
"Dear students, an election for student council president will take place. Please cast your votes by the end of today. Thank you."
An announcement played. The council president sure does work fast huh.
Hm? Is that B/N?
"Brother! Over here!"
"Y/N? Why did you make that deal with them?"
"Deal? What deal?"
"The one about winning the election!!"
Huh?
"What are you talking about?"
He sighs.
"You said that the person who wins the election gets to ask any favour of you. Now the candidates are trying to get people to vote for them!!"
Uh... did I make such a deal?
"Dearest brother... are you sure I'm the one who made that deal...?"
"...?! You didn't know?"
"No..."
"So what now? Your entire life is at stake now. This is a life-or-death situation..!"
"How? Are they going to kill me or something?"
"Worse...! They might-!"

"Sir B/N... I'd like to borrow you for a moment.."
"A-ah... Miss Alisa... what are you doing here?"
Alisa drags him away by the collar. I wonder what that was about...
In any case... I suppose I'll have to cast my vote too...

Miny...
Moe...
Oh? Looks like we got our winner.
I head to the council office to place my vote.

I shake my head and sigh.
What's done is done. I can only hope the winner doesn't do anything too crazy.

"It's a secret. Can't have you spreading false information."
"What kind of image do you have of me?"
"A bad one."
I write down the person who had gotten my vote.
The council president not so sneakily peers over from behind.
"Hm? What a lucky person... I see... your vote is safe with me."
I turn to leave the council room.
Now begs the question... who did I vote for? Well, of course... it's someone who suits the position really well!
Someone strong and kind... powerful and has a lot of influence... someone smart... and someone I have a lot of respect for!
That person is none other than...
