When I woke up, Summer was curled up on my lap and we were on the couch. I lifted her head up slightly and set a pillow under her head. Her eyes fluttered open.

I smiled. "Morning gorgeous."

She smiled. "Hey..."

"I'm hungry...." I muttered, sitting on the floor in front of her face.

She sat up. "I'll go microwave some leftover pizza and stuff..."

"Thanks." I kissed her forehead and went upstairs. I was picking up a shirt to put on when I heard a giant crash. I ran downstairs to see Summer standing in the middle of a bunch of shattered glass. There was a little pool of blood underneath her. She had her hands covering her mouth and tears streaming down her face.

"I... I..." She stuttered. Alfie and Zoe came running out.

"What happened?" Zoe asked.

I maneuvered through the glass and picked Summer up and set her on the counter.

"That looks pretty deep..." I looked at the cut.

The tears kept streaming down her face.

"Hey... Its okay. I'll take you to the hospital. Zoe? Can you clean up the cut while I change and get the car?" I asked, kissing Summer's forehead.

Zoe nodded and walked over. Alfie swept up the shards of glass as I went upstairs to change.

Summer
I walked to the kitchen to make leftover pizza. I grabbed two glasses out of the cabinet to make orange juice. My fingers felt so numb from sleeping that I dropped them. They made the loudest shattering noise ever. I stumbled a bit and stood in shock when I felt I sharp pain in my right heel. I started crying when Joe came running down.

"I... I..." I stuttered like an idiot. At the moment Alfie and Zoe came running out too.

They took one look around and Zoe asked, "What happened?"

I started crying even harder and Joe made his way over.

I grabbed one of Summer's blue flip-flops and ran downstairs. They glass was swept up and Alfie and Zoe kept trying to talk to Summer.

"It wasn't your fault.." Zoe reassured her.

That just made Summer sob harder. I put the flipflop on her left foot and carried her bridal style to the car. I went to the left and set her in the passenger seat then went right and got in the drivers seat.

"I'm sorry..." She whispered, biting her lip.

I smiled. "Its not your fault." I wiped away a tear.

She managed a small smile. I started the car and drove to the hospital. When we got there, she insisted on walking. I knelt down a little and put my arm under hers and held her waist for support. She limped to the door and we walked in. Only 2 people were there. I set her down in a chair and went to the desk and signed her in.

"You'll only have to wait about 5 minutes. Don't worry." I smiled.

She smiled back up at me. I gave her her phone.

"You brought it?" She asked.

"Yea, you tumblr and twitter addict." I kissed her nose.

She got on tumblr, of course. I shook my head.

"Summer Breeze?" A male voice said.

"That's me!" She chirped and got up. I helped her walk over to the doctor.

"Follow me to the room." A middle aged man said.

We followed him into a room and I sat Summer on the bed.

"Is Breeze your real last name?" He asked.

She chuckled. "Yea. My parents had a sense of humor."

"Ok, well, it looks like you don't need stitches. We just need to check for any more glass and patch it up. I'll be right back with a wheel chair to take you to the examination room." He walked out and a few minutes later came back, rolling a wheelchair in.

I lifted Summer up and put her in it. The doctor walked out and I pushed the wheelchair, following him.
