_Two years later_
Footstep after footstep echoed throughout the graveyard as the sun began to rise. Wide hips, long chestnut brown arms and legs, cropped black curls. A young woman in a black pencil skirt and white blouse made her way throughout the graveyard. Upon removal of her thick sunglasses her brown eyes revealed unshed tears.
"You ever wonder what he would have been like now a days?" A year had passed, everyone had grown, healed and graduated high school some staying close some drifting. A smile drifted onto the girls lips as she starred down at the boy besides her.
Andre.
"He'd respect and love the boy you've grown into." Kizzie smiled, rubbing his back as he starred at the headstones of both his brothers. Sometimes she wondered about Sean, sometimes she wandered about Antonio but she knew that'd be no good. She was nineteen now and leaving in a few weeks to go to college once more for her second semester at Oakland University. Studying to be a Neonatal nurse, she registered as a nurse-practitioner (NP). A registered nurse is usually a graduate of a 4-year college or university. Some community colleges offer specialized programs designed to train registered nurses in 2 years, but she figured a longer experience was best. These programs are often run in conjunction with nearby hospitals to provide clinical experience for the students. Some hospitals offer 3-year programs to train and educate registered nurses. A nurse-practitioner needs a master's degree in addition to a 4-year degree. So she had man choices to dice-fer from.
"I still get sad about him sometimes. My sisters don't since there to young to understand." Bending over to rest roses over the growing garden of her ex boyfriend and his brother, she blew a kiss to them both wishing them well as she walked off with Andre. Scratching at the tattoo above her left breast, she shrugged her shoulder softly.
"Well Andre....you can't think about that right now. There barely even two right now, so of course they don't know sadness beyond not getting a toy from the store when they see one. But come on it's time to go, I have to get you back home before I leave." Kizzie declared firmly as she slid behind the wheel of her Honda Civic. Nothing to flashy, nothing to over done just black and simple. Over the years friendships had dwindled as everyone grew up and moved away. Diamond and her had drifted slightly, not texting or calling every day like before but nothing was ever said to mend the drifted friendship. Unable to withhold a relationship throughout there years in school, Avery and Diamond separated for there time being in school. Kizzie never being close with him in the first place, figured she'd seem him again one day. From time to time though Diamond or her would visit home and warmly greet one another like old times.
Dimond more often than Kizzie, being that she was closer.
"You ready to get back out there?" Smiling at my Uncle Justin I hugged him tightly, with a nod. Everyone would meet at my home today. Except Diamond and Avery. Diamond went back to school early, being that she went to Wanye University in downtown Detroit. She worked on campus there and couldn't be late for work.
"Where do you go to school again?" Looking up from my lap to stare at my Grandma I grinned and shook my head. She was always forgetting right when she told her friends about me.
"Oakland University, in Auburn Hills Grandma. " Smiling softly I turned away from her as the door opened to reveal Gabby, her boyfriend Marco and his brother Deontae. I had grown closer to them as well over there years and I love everything about my future now.
