The tension between Jungkook and me had started to ease, but the unease of my mistake still lingered in the air. The guilt and regret gnawed at me, and I knew that it would take time for the wounds to heal completely. We were working on rebuilding our relationship, slowly but surely, and I clung to the hope that we could emerge stronger from this ordeal.

One evening, Jungkook mentioned that one of his friends from the office, Jaehyun, would be visiting. I had met Jaehyun a few times before and knew him to be a friendly and cheerful person. However, I couldn't shake off a sense of foreboding that settled in my stomach at the thought of his visit.

Jaehyun arrived just as the sun was setting, casting a warm glow over our apartment. He greeted us with his usual infectious smile, and for a moment, I felt a flicker of normalcy. We sat in the living room, exchanging pleasantries and catching up on mundane topics. Jungkook seemed more relaxed than he had been in days, and I was grateful for the distraction.

As the evening wore on, Jaehyun and Jungkook shared stories from their office, laughing and joking like old times. I joined in the conversation, trying to push away the nagging feeling that something was amiss. It wasn't until Jaehyun's expression turned serious that I realized my intuition had been right.

"Jungkook," Jaehyun began, his tone shifting to one of concern, "there's something I need to talk to you about. It's about the video."

I froze, my heart pounding in my chest. Jungkook's demeanor changed instantly, his eyes narrowing as he leaned forward. "What about the video?" he asked, his voice tense.

Jaehyun glanced at me, and I could see the hesitation in his eyes. "I think it's important for Jisoo to hear this too."

I felt a wave of dread wash over me, but I nodded, bracing myself for what was to come. Jungkook gestured for Jaehyun to continue, his jaw clenched in anticipation.

"You see," Jaehyun started, "the night of the incident, I happened to be at the same club. I was there to have a few drinks with some friends. I didn't expect to see anyone I knew, let alone Jisoo."

My breath caught in my throat as the pieces started to fall into place. Jungkook's eyes flickered to me briefly before returning to Jaehyun.

"I saw Jisoo," Jaehyun continued, his voice low, "and she was clearly intoxicated. At first, I didn't think much of it. But then, I saw her with that guy. I saw them making out, and I... I didn't know what to do."

Jungkook's expression darkened, and I could see the hurt resurfacing in his eyes. "So, you recorded it?" he asked, his voice strained.

Jaehyun nodded, looking genuinely remorseful. "I didn't mean any harm. I was just shocked and didn't know how to react. I thought... I thought you should know, Jungkook. I sent the video to you because I thought you deserved to know the truth."

I felt a lump forming in my throat, my eyes stinging with unshed tears. The weight of my actions pressed down on me, and I couldn't bear to look at either of them.

Jungkook's gaze was fixed on Jaehyun, his expression a mix of anger and betrayal. "You could have told me in person," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "You didn't have to send the video."

Jaehyun looked down, guilt written all over his face. "I know. I realize that now. I'm sorry, Jungkook. I never wanted to hurt you or Jisoo. I just thought you needed to know."

There was a heavy silence in the room, the tension palpable. Jungkook finally turned to me, his eyes searching mine. "Is this true, Jisoo?" he asked, his voice cracking.

I nodded, unable to speak. The tears I'd been holding back finally spilled over, and I buried my face in my hands, overwhelmed with shame and regret.

Jungkook took a deep breath, his expression softening slightly as he looked at me. "Jisoo, I need to know that you're committed to making things right. That you won't let something like this happen again."

I lifted my head, meeting his gaze. "I promise, Jungkook," I said, my voice trembling. "I will do everything I can to make it right. I won't let you down again."

He nodded slowly, the hurt still evident in his eyes, but there was also a glimmer of hope. "We'll take it one step at a time," he said softly. "But know that it's going to take time for me to fully trust you again."

Jaehyun cleared his throat, breaking the moment. "I should go," he said awkwardly, standing up. "I just wanted to come by and explain everything. I'm truly sorry for any pain I caused."

Jungkook nodded, his expression weary. "Thank you for coming, Jaehyun."

As Jaehyun left, the door closing behind him, the room felt heavy with the weight of the revelations. Jungkook and I were left alone, the silence between us filled with unspoken words.

I took a tentative step towards him, my heart aching for the pain I had caused. "Jungkook, I..."

He held up a hand, stopping me. "Let's take it one day at a time, Jisoo," he said quietly. "We'll figure this out together."

I nodded, thankful for his patience and understanding. Despite the shadows of our past still hanging over us, I felt a spark of hope for our future. It wouldn't be easy, but I was determined to rebuild what we had lost and show Jungkook that our love was worth fighting for.

"Also, I'm sorry." I glanced up at him as he spoke. "I wasn't in the right frame of mind that night, and I apologize." He took my hand and whispered, "I never meant to treat you that way... I was just... lost. The hurt consumed me, and it turned into rage."

Gently, he drew me into his warm embrace. Unsure of what to do, I hugged him back. "I love you, Jungkook." His eyes widened in surprise. "Can you say that again?" I couldn't help but chuckle. "I love you, Jungkook." I repeated softly. He hugged me even tighter. "I love you too, my baby."
