In a time span of a few weeks Florentine's life has completely changed, but then again not all that much has changed for her since New Years Eve.
While Florentine was in Monaco, Archie and Marley went on a little vacation themselves, a trip to Italy that the French girl had gifted them. The bakery was closed for a whole week. They had a wonderful time and upated the girl through various pictures, the couple even managed to visit some old friends that live in the countryside, people they hadn't seen in over thirty years due to their profession.
Working at the bakery day in and out filled the elderly couple with pride and happiness, they loved it with their whole heart and wouldn't trade the blood, sweat and tears they spent building it up from the ground for anything, but the getaway gave them the opportunity to finally get a taste of what they've been missing out on for so long.
It's the reason why they decided to step back from the bakery to travel, explore and do all the things they denied themselves for so long in fears of letting their employees down. The lack of their daughter's interest in keeping the family's bakery alive held them back from doing so for so long, but ever since Florentine stepped into their lives, the married couple knew they found a successor that would make them proud. She was like another daughter to them and they wouldn't want anybody else to continue rather than someone who burned for their passion as much as Florentine did.
At first, the girl's heart dropped when the two announced their retirement in front of all of their employees, gasps were let out and even tears were spilled, but when they announced that they wanted Florentine to become the new owner, the girl didn't know what to say. While the rest of her colleagues were chanting and cheering her on, Florentine was frozen. The only thing that pulled her out of it was Marley embracing her with a bright smile and even then, Florentine couldn't wrap her head around the fact that they wanted her to continue their legacy.
That day was filled with a lot of happy tears, discussions and celebratory drinks that even Bradley popped in for and by the end of January, Florentine was the rightful owner of the property and was able to do with it as she pleased. The couple urged her to make something new out of it, give it her own stamp and at first Florentine was against it. She didn't want to change anything due to her believing it was disrespectful to do so, but a long discussion with Marley over a cup of tea made Florentine realize that this was her chance to fulfill her dream.
The original plan for Florentine to honor Archie and Marley, who she owed a lot to, consisted of the renewal of the kitchen appliances and updates to the interior. Realistically, that could've been done in under a month and Florentine preferred it like that, seeing as she didn't want to close down the bakery for longer than that.
Both Bradley and Carmen gave her the impulse to take the opportunity to create something bigger and with Archie and Marley's approval, the bakery was set to be completely re-newed and opened under a new name.
