The door to the bakery was opened and closed in a rushed manner, a boy entering with a worried expression and headphones still hanging from his ears. He walked up to the table Florentine was sitting at, waiting for him.

"I'm so sorry Miss Beaufort, this is my first time off campus and I got lost...", the boy spoke defeatedly, his best puppy dog eyes on show and the girl almost visibly let out a gasp. She stood up, reaching out her hand for him to shake as she gazed at him.

In her best attempt to seem professional, Florentine plastered on a small smile and laughed, motioning for the boy to sit across from her. He didn't waste a second before sitting down, grinning at her nervously. A gesture from Florentine made the boys' eyes widen, pulling the headphones out of his year hurriedly, before stuffing them in the pocket of his jacket.

"Sorry, Miss Beaufort", he spoke again and Florentine wanted to coo at the boy. She had his job application printed out and read through it as she waited for him to arrive. He was barely twenty, but looked even younger, especially with the nervous expression.

"First of all, I'm not 50, call me Florentine", she started laughing and it melted away some of his nervousness. He nodded and let out a soft laugh, his gaze not meeting her's as his cheeks turned rosy. "And your first time off campus?", she questioned, trying to sound as kind as possible.

She was mad at first, having waited fifteen minutes for him to arrive to his job interview, but when she read through his application form she could piece a few things together, which made her more understanding and endeared almost.

"I'm starting my first year at Oxford next semester and my parents thought it was a good idea for me to move here a bit earlier to get to know everything and get comfortable with the language", the boy explained further and a small smirk hushed over the girl's lips, having recognized the accent the moment he walked through the door and started apologizing.

"What's your major?", Florentine returned, interested to know what he came here to study for. "Business and Management", he spoke fondly, clearly happy with his choice and Florentine felt a slight tug at her heart.

The girl forced herself to continue smiling, nodding her head as she went through the papers in front of her. She pulled out his resume and scanned through it quickly, trying to distract herself until she recomposed herself. The boy could see the slight hesitance in her face, wondering if he had already made a bad impression, which he guessed he definitely did.

"Yeah I took the subway here, but then I took a left instead of a right as I walked up the exit and for like five minutes I walked into the wrong direction, I ran here to not be even later. I'm sorry again, Miss— Florentine", the boy grimaced as he almost forgot to not adress her as such, his attempt to explain himself actually luring a genuine laugh from the girl as she looked up at him.
