SMG4 and the others were standing in front of the roofless castle. The crystal was in the palm of his hand.
Everybody was staring down at it.
"So how do we get rid of it?" Meggy asked.
SMG4 sighed. "I really don't know, but... we need to destroy it somehow. SMG3, try crushing it." SMG4 tossed the crystal to his friend, which instantly made him grow in size. "I gotchu!" Lifting his foot up in the air, he dropped the crystal and got ready to crush it under his massive shoe. He placed his other foot just on the edge of it so he wouldn't break contact with it.
But the minute he stepped down on it, he let out a loud caterwaul and jumped up, holding his leg up in the air. "OW! That hurt!"
When the others went to check on the jewel, to their horror, they saw that it was still in one piece.
"Huh?!"
"Damn it!" Meggy exclaimed. "That thing is not breaking. Let me try!" Picking up the crystal, Meggy instantly gained her pyrokinesis. Holding it between her hands, she combusted herself into a body of flame. But when she saw that the crystal was not melting, she cooled herself off. "Shit man! This thing is invincible!"
"Give me it! Maybe I can break it!"
When Meggy handed the crystal to Boopkins, he instantly felt power pump within him.
He tried to snap it in half, but nothing was happening. When he tried to do the same thing as SMG3, he also had no luck. "Aww man..."
"Give me that!" Saiko ripped the crystal from out of his hands and gained her power of weather control. "I'd suggest you guys find somewhere safe to hide."
Taking her cue, the crew instantly hid inside of the roofless castle and watched the scene play out from the door way.
A giant storm cloud suddenly appeared in the sky and floated right above Saiko and the crystal. A moment later, a zap of lightning suddenly struck down onto it.
Everybody excitedly ran from their hiding places to see the shattered gem, but of course, to absolutely nobody's surprise, the crystal was still in one piece.
"That thing seriously has a mind of it's own!" SMG3 growled. "SMG4, why don't you try to break it?"
"Me?"
Everybody turned to face their friend. "Yeah! Your power is literally not having a power! The crystal has no control over you!"
SMG4 blinked for a moment, but then his face turned serious. "Hand me the crystal."
When Saiko had handed him the crystal, of course nothing had happened. Clenching it into his palm, he ran towards a nearby tree and caterwauled.
As soon as he rammed the gem against the tree, the entire thing shattered.
"YES!" SMG4 could hear Meggy's victorious screech from behind him. "SMG4 you did it! ...Kinda."
Running towards her friend, she saw that their were shards scattered around the grass.
The others went to investigate the scene as well. Counting them all up, their was a total of ten shards.
"I think we made things worse!"
"No! Wait! This is a great thing!" Picking up one of the shards, Meggy instantly combusted into flame again. "Now we all have our own special powers!"
When the crew picked up their own shard, they instantly gained the powers they had held previously. Melony was the only one who didn't pick up her shard.
"I think I'd better hold onto yours." SMG4 comforted.
Melony nodded. "Thanks a bunch!"
Of course when SMG4 held the crystal, nothing happened.
"You're stronger than the crystal itself," Meggy reminded, walking beside her friend. "And that's what makes you great."
"Are you guys sure that holding onto these is a very good idea...? It is dangerous..."
"They are dangerous..." Meggy agreed. "But your power balances that out. With you, our powers are soothed and become less of a nuisance."
"Huh..." SMG4 scratched his hat. "I guess you're right." Holding the crystal in his hands, he held it up to the light."Maybe something good will come out of these after all."
