I feel like the weed in the flower bed

Like an outsider no one wants there.

I'm beautiful

Yes

But they don't care

I'll get mowed over soon

It picked by my roots

And if I spread new seeds

Only the naive child will want me

Everyone else see's what I really am

A virus

An invasion

A pesky annoyance

The Weed

Oh how I loathe this garden

I see the open fields, dandelions galore

White and yellow

As bright as the sun

But my garden doesn't want me

So I blow in the wind and carry on

It seems everywhere I land I'm a bother

And when I finally lay my roots,

Get comfortable

Someone comes along and pulls me up

Tosses me to the side

And wipes their hands clean of me

Because I'm the bother

Uninvited

The outsider

The Weed.

I promise I'm good

I'll do you no harm

Please just let me rest

Let me show you

That I can be the Rose

The Lilly

I can be the pretty thing that shines in the sun

The Iris

The Gladiolus

I promise I can

Just let me try

Because I am not the Weed

I am the Dandelion

I am the

Flower.
